He surprised me with the numbers he put up and seems like he has resurrected himself as a legit project type of prospect???

Can someone comment on where he stands as a Canuck prospect.

And also on Mallet.
They both did well on a pretty crappy team. We'll see how they do after moving up to the AHL. They're both late bloomers, it will take a few years to see where they're actually at. As long as they keep improving each year, we're fine.

Pure stat-watching comment: Why is it that Calgary was mocked for Iginla's return - two nobodies and a late first - when one of those nobodies is Ken Agostino, the junior leading Yale to the FF. He's outpacing Laganiere by 13 points in the same # games played.

I guess my question is this: Is Laganiere a guy who just projects better as a pro and that's the reason for the hype surrounding him, or is it simply the case of a potential free asset?

Because there's apparently zero buzz surrounding Agostino amongst Pens fans I know.

Size is a big one but it's more so the combination of size, speed and skill. Laganiere has pretty soft hands for a big guy. He's also very physical.

(Look at the career of Dustin Penner despite only putting up 23 points in 40+ games in college at age 21.)

Langaniere projects to be a Jarett Stoll/Zack Smith type imo. Good size, physical good defensivley, can pitch in a bit offensivley.

How nice would that be. At his age, hes likely almost ready to step in as a #4C now; maybe a bit of time in the AHL first.

He's a winger.

Really? Not as exciting then, hes listed as a center on hockeyDB.

Only played a few games in his freshman year. He has spent pretty much his whole college career at wing. Plays like a winger too so it's where he fits in best.

Hoping we get him and he meshes well with Lain and we could probably have those 2 on the third line in the future. Lain has looked very good defensively apparently in the AHL.

I think he's done enough in his first stint in the ECHL to earn a contract from the Canucks. He and Mallet did well in K-zoo; now if he shows promise in the AHL it's all but assured.

Langaniere strikes me as someone that would play well with Gaunce.

Blomstrand - Gaunce - Laganiere would be a solid line.

I would move Gaunce to the wing so that Laganiere can play as a centre where he excels at.

Have you seen Laganiere excel at center? If so, where? He hasn't played center for probably 95% of his collegiate career...

Sorry, I also forgot that Gaunce is a left-winger now too

He actually plays every position... centre, wing, right-side D... crazy ***er even took the crease when the starting goalie went down with the flu for a couple games - won both games too. But no question he is predominantly centre.

This has to somehow become an interview question for Laganiere when/if he signs. Variants of the quizzical look on his face can be our playoff avy's.

I'd move Jensen to defense so Corrado could play wing.
