All young Canucks dream of growing up to be the next Trevor Linden, ergo Trevor Linden dreamed of being the next Trevor Linden.

(I am poking fun at how much undue exaltation Trevor often gets. Young hockey players don't dream of Trevor anymore, if they ever did.)

That's ok, IIRC TL's favourite player growing up was Lanny MacDonald.

Schroeder with 4 points in 3 games over the weekend, and a +3. He seems to be able to really dominate the AHL after his tenure in the NHL, that's a good sign. It shows he's learning.

That's nice indeed but one thing that seems to keep holding him back in both leagues really is his lack of finish and little touch he has around the net. Don't get me wrong 4pts in 3 games is great production but from watching him with the Wolves and especially in the NHL, he seems to fumble pucks in prime scoring areas and just lack some finish and decisiveness to end plays strongly. He has clearly developed at the AHL level to that point where he creates enough chances to be a PPG player even with many chances missed (if you create enough, you will get your points), but that will be so much harder to do in the NHL.

Can't be any worse than Ebbett

Ebbett has 4 points in 18 games, yet 3 of them came in 1 game.

He's got 1 assist in his last 11 games, isn't a good PKer, makes Schroeder look like Manny on the draw.

1 assist in 17 games, yet has a cemented spot on the team. I haven't balked at his inclusion very much on here, even though it has been driving me mad....I just don't get it.

Ebbett is also listed as 1 inch taller and 1 pound lighter, so it's not like he's bringing a different element. If I'm Schroeder I would be FRUSTRATED.

Might be frustrating to the player but personally I don't mind. Unlike Ebbett, Schroeder has potential and it's probably only a good thing for him to play in the AHL in bigger role, produce and get confidence to play with the puck and make plays. He hasn't exactly been producing that greatly in the AHL before this season or even before his games in the NHL this season (AHL seemed to slow down for him after that). I didn't really see him as an offensive player in the NHL yet, so let him score a lot in the AHL now that he seems capable of doing so and hope he can continue doing that in the NHL at some point (playoffs? next season?) when the Canucks really need him.

I think the Canucks are just planning ahead a bit, knowing Kesler will be back soon. Ebbett will be the 13th forward and Schroeder can continue in Chicago.

#Canucks prospect Evan McEneny picks up his third point of the post-season, an assist, as the @OHLRangers lead London 2-0 early on in Game 3

Ebbett might well end up on the Wolves again once Kesler gets back.

But it's great to see the change it's made in Schroeder's game after spending 30 games up in the NHL - it's already made for a step forward in his development and now you're seeing the result of that in the AHL.

Nice. McEneny picked up 2 assists as well. Rangers down 2-1 in series though.

Very impressive production by Gaunce and the fact he was voted as the best defensive forward by OHL coaches, he's going to make a great 3C.

That should be a fun matchup to watch. Hopefully Gaunce can slow him down.
