Looks like someone is unaware that Mario is in the best shape of his life. Even then Chunky Mario could buy and sell your entire province, sir.

Kesler + Edler + 1st.

Would also add either of our goalies, if Pittsburgh cared for them.

Its obvious Perry would resign in Pitt with the available money in Malkin's departure. Played with Crosby...

Also you obviously are way to serious being forum police. OMG the ducks give up a Hart trophy winner, their young 2nd line center, 1st round pick, and mid level prospect/pick for 1 year of an injured Malkin? Yikes....

From Dallas: 2013 1st, Eriksson, Roy, Faksa, Robidas

From Pittsburgh: Malkin + anyone in your doghouse you don't want

Pitt gets a 1st, an elite winger, a 2nd line C replacement, Dallas' top prospect, and a player that can play in their top 4 defense group.

I know Pens fans love Malkin, but your team would be better after that trade.

there's one proven NHL player in that trade. How is that good value for the reigning MVP? Edmonton could do it. They actually have the pieces that would make me go "hmmm" But they would never do it.

I was referencing a commerical in Canada about 10 years ago where Lemieux's mom yelled at him to come get some campbells chunky soup haha. Looking over the players...I think the "just for fun" is right on the nail cause i don't think our entire top 9 is enough to land those guys.

I will trade you vancouver island for lemieux though. My beer league team is in need of a sponser, player, coach, chauffer and pre game campbells soup.

Edited because I missed the Johansson/Perreault part. Still, there aren't enough ways to say no.
underperforming superstars often make a renessaince after the change of scenery.
Just imagine pens top-6:
Kunitz-Crosby-Ovechkin
Johansson-Backstrom-Neal
it's awesome.
Talking about "a frontrunner for the Norris" I suppose Martin and Orpik are far more important pieces for the pens organization. Letang has been mostly a product of the pens system, just Dick Tarnstrom number two. Place Mike Green in the current pens roster and he probably would be a frontrunner for the Norris too. So Letang would be easily replaced by rapidly progressing Despres.

Canadians and your weird Canadian commercials. It's almost like you're a different country sometimes.

As a bonus throw-in, Lemieux will let you live in his basement for a term not to exceed five (5) years.

this isn't NHL 13 where you can disable the salary cap. Letang is better than Green, regardless of the system. no, Green wouldn't be a Norris candidate with the Pens. Despres also can't replace Letang. this deal is not even close. if Shero did this, he should be fired. it shouldn't even warrant a phone call from Lemieux. he should leave the building the minute he hangs up the phone to confirm the trade.

That roster is cap hell. Even if one were to take all your optimistic scenarios for Ovi, Backstrom and Greene at face value.

Really? They have the wingers, but I don't really fancy their centers or D. I wouldn't want to trade Malkin for only wingers. I'd rather look at Colorado, if we had to.

No need for the Pens to gamble on that happening by giving up a player they are happy with and who is happy here on the chance that Ovechkin & Backstrom find their games again. Plus the extra cap space would make it even worse.

Your supposition is totally wrong and anyone who has seen this team play without Letang for an extended period of time would know that. Referring to him as "Dick Tarnstrom number two" is laugh out loud hilarious, so two thumbs up. I guess this Pens 'system' is the reason why they've had so many Norris winners over the past few decades. You might be onto something there.

i wouldn't do this. the Pens get a good winger, sure, but at the expense of a sharp drop in quality of their 2C, taking on a redundant d-man, and absorbing more futures. i wouldn't do this, especially since the prospect is a CENTER.

i havent see anything close on here beside Van with Kesler and La w/ Kopitar, Richards, Brown, 1st...

la would have to do Kopitar, Top prospect, Brown and 1st would work

i like Kesler, Edler, prospect, 1st

Rangers would have to give..

Gaborik, Stepan, Staal/McD, prospect, 1st and i doubt thats even enough hahah

Kreider-Malkin-Callahan
Hags-Richards-Nash

Creates cap issues for the Pens, but then again ALL fair value for Malkin would.

I'd totally consider Landeskog + Duchene + top10pick a solid offer in the spirit of playing along.
