Game 28: Home, sweet home

The Ducks return to Pond after Minnesota - Dallas - St.Louis roadtrip with 5 of possible 6 points and hope to beat their franchise record of won home games in a row (11). The Ducks made their roadtrip pretty succesfull with Getzlaf and Ryan going without any points in it and scoring only 5 goals.

The Sharks just played 2 game series with LA with each team winning their home game. But who cares about them, really?

Tonight we will still play without pretty important pieces of Corey Perry and Nick Bonino. Sharks will miss only Martin Havlat and will be pretty willing to get 2 points tonight.
This will be the 3d of 5 meetings between the teams this season with each team getting a win earlyer in the season, however, the Ducks loss in San Jose (SO loss) was probably one of the best games they have had this season. After that game Sharks started their struggles and eventually gave the Pacific Division leading spot to Anaheim, which, luckily, we have been able to remain at least for now.

C`mon Ducks, win this!

Pardon my photopaint skills. Made a poster for tonight

Kyle Palmieri-Ryan Getzlaf-Teemu Selanne
Bobby Ryan-Peter Holland-Emerson Etem
Daniel Winnik-Saku Koivu-Andrew Cogliano
Matt Beleskey-David Steckel-Brad Staubitz
Sheldon Souray-Francois Beauchemin
Bryan Allen-Cam Fowler
Luca Sbisa-Toni Lydman

Fasth

vs

and friends

*Will update the lineup after hearing from Stephens

Let`s do it!

Not yet. If you want to get those updates when they happen follow Eric Stephens on Twitter, he usually has the lineups by the afternoon.

Eric Stephens ‏@icemancometh
Appears that Toni Lydman will be back in after sitting two games. Ben Lovejoy likely out.

Also Etem apparently might be on the 2nd line, someone better check to make sure Ducksgo hasn't passed out....

Another interesting fact - Ducks and Blue Jackets are currently the only teams in the NHL to earn points in all 10 their previous games.

hmm i wonder how unsustainable the blue jackets stats are o.O

Anyway i hate the sharks, i hate the fact that their fans(most of them anyway), i hate how they over glorify the team because they have a bigger fan base, i hope we beat them without perry and then i can go read their forums for a good laugh tonight.

Etem steps on that 2nd line and this is the beginning to gretzkys records being broken, no one is going to stop him.

The unfortunate part is if etem does score well never hear the end of it.

Fasth in net tonight.

Eric Stephens ‏@icemancometh
Viktor Fasth getting the start for Ducks against San Jose. Not too much of a surprise there. First since getting hurt last week.

So I have an oppurtunity to pick up Fasth in a fantasy pool trade. It's a good trade if he starts 40-50% of the rest of the games. It's a bad move if he starts 20% of the games. What does the goaltending situation look like going forward?

I think you can pretty much count on him getting 40-50 percent of the games, for rest of season.

He was rushed to the ICU a few hours ago. He's not responding.

Hopefully the team keeps the 4 line pressure up. This is a tough week.

Go Ducks!

I wonder if we can start saying that the division is essentially a lock for us? There's a 12 point lead over the Kings. Because I'd like to start to see BB rotating some of the forwards, especially some of the older veterans and give them a chance to rest up for the playoffs.
