Yes. He is a rental, why then would his age matter? The simple fact is he is having a very good season producing points. There is no reason they should not be able to get at least a 2nd for a player like that.

Absolutely, I think teams would jump at the chance to get Jagr for a run. I'd say he nets at least a 2nd.

Because some people take stock into it? Jagr is definitely not one to show his age but I keep hearing how he got worn down at the end of the season last season so that's worrying.

I'm just saying going by trends my expectations aren't that high on immediate return value.

The end of last season was after an 82 game schedule. This one will be after a 48 game schedule.

I assume the first conversation has already taken place. Jagr's been around and he isn't going to wait for the ship to capsize before getting on that lifeboat. His being traded should be seen as a win-win; Stars fans got to enjoy him for part of one season because we offered the most money (probably), the young guys got a chance to train and play with him, and now we get to reap the benefits of having signed a legend who is still productive at his age.

I'm not getting my hopes up about the return but a 2nd round pick and/or a pretty decent prospect should be coming our way.

I feel like the only thing I have to look forward to this season is the trade deadline... And I feel like Joe is going to screw that up.

Not sure why we would trade Larsen. His value is severely diminished right now. All of Gaglardi's quotes have been about the future, future, future (oh and if we could make the playoffs that would be cool). Trading Larsen would be something we would do if we were buyers at the deadline looking to bolster the roster for a playoff run. Doesn't make sense to me at all.

Me either, that's why I expect it.

Yeah, the deadline should be a big day for the Stars.

Hopefully not as big as Draft Lottery Day, though.

I want to see a closeup of GM Joe's smiling face when Bill Daly reveals Dallas as the #1 pick.

Krejci returned tonight and they were happy with Spooner. Peverley has had a pretty rough season. I think this is about his poor play and not a sign of a trade tonight.

You shouldn't tease me like that. Morrow and Jagr to Boston for whomever (salary dump) + Spooner.

Who do we think is in the market for Jagr? Pretty much all of the top 10 teams in the East could use him (focusing on the East because my feeling is that Jagr will ask to go back there rather than continue to travel the West). I could be wrong but I keep coming back to Carolina. They seem to have a legit top 5 forwards but if they could add another weapon there Jagr would seem like a good fit. I could be totally offbase there and I realize they are in a precarious position standings-wise as well.

I think you nailed it. There's not someone that wouldn't want to add offense. Unless you're on Iginla's short list, Jagr is the best available. That should drive up his price a bit ... probably not a ton though.

No matter what position we are in come trade deadline day Roy should be traded. It looks like it's almost certain he will walk come July 1st so you have to trade him.

It is kind of funny. I never wanted Roy and was bummed when we traded for him, then I got over it and actually liked the idea of him playing for the Stars. Then I was down right excited about him and now he is as good as gone. I would like to resign him but not if we have to overpay.
