John-Michael Liles (Defense)
32 Years Old November 25th 1980
5'10'' 185 Pounds
2000 NHL Draft 5th Round 159th Overall

4 Years $15'500'000 at $3'875'000/Season
2012/2013 - 2015/2016

2003-04 Colorado Avalanche NHL 79 10 24 34
2005-06 Colorado Avalanche NHL 82 14 35 49
2006-07 Colorado Avalanche NHL 71 14 30 44
2007-08 Colorado Avalanche NHL 81 6 26 32
2008-09 Colorado Avalanche NHL 75 12 27 39
2009-10 Colorado Avalanche NHL 59 6 25 31
2010-11 Colorado Avalanche NHL 76 6 40 46
2011-12 Toronto Maple Leafs NHL 66 7 20 27
2012-13 Toronto Maple Leafs NHL 32 2 9 11

Assets: Has plenty of speed, mobility and offensive acumen. Plays with supreme confidence when in possession of the puck; he moves the puck expertly. Is an asset on the power play.

Flaws: His smallish frame will always be an issue at the NHL level. Needs to keep proving he can raise his level of play in key game situations by keeping the game simple when on the defensive.

Career Potential: Solid offensive defenseman.

Martin Havlat (Left Wing)
31 Years Old April 19th 1981
6'02'' 215 Pounds
1999 NHL Draft 1st Round 26th Overall

6 Years $30'000'000 at $5'000'000/Season
2009-2010 - 2014/2015

2007-08 Chicago Blackhawks NHL 35 10 17 27
2008-09 Chicago Blackhawks NHL 81 29 48 77
2009-10 Minnesota Wild NHL 73 18 36 54
2010-11 Minnesota Wild NHL 78 22 40 62
2011-12 San Jose Sharks NHL 39 7 20 27
2012-13 San Jose Sharks NHL 20 3 3 6

Assets: Has supreme offensive ability, tremendous speed, shiftiness and creativity. Plays a sound two-way game and scores highlight-reel goals. Can play either wing position.

Flaws: Is rather injury-prone and a little undisciplined on the ice. Needs to do a better job of avoiding traffic, since his team needs him on the ice--not in the infirmary.

Career Potential: Highly skilled, yet fragile offensive winger.

Nope. Sharks don't need a d-man.

You're not getting Havlat for your healthy scratch scrapes. Typical Leafs fans.

Sharks. Do. Not. Need. Defense.

Does no one read any of the other threads when they make their own proposals?

No from the Leafs. Have enough wingers right now and I don't think Havlat's 6 points would really improve our offense.

Need higher quality D and if Liles is moved for anything I'd hope for picks/prospects or another D man equivalent to Liles' value but more of a shut-down role.

Leafs don't want an injury prone 6 point winger, pass.

Looks like both teams not interested which is right.

So, wait, we get a 6 point winger who we don't need because we already have like 7 good wingers on the roster, and the Sharks get a d-man they don't need?

Try again. Or don't. This is pretty bad

Liles has just as many points in 3 less games.

After having watched Liles for years in the Western Conference Leafs fans passing on Havlat for Liles are pretty hilarious.

Whether the Leafs would take it or not, this is a horrendous offer.

lol at least Liles is healthy. Funny thing is, Havlat has only played 3 more games than liles and has the same amount of points.

I wouldn't do this deal as Leaf fan because Havlat is a shell of his former self with 2 years remaining on his horrible contract. Liles has a bad contract but at least it isn't 5 million per year. 3.8 is very manageable compared to the Havlat contract.

This one really does seem badly misconstrued.
