@StapeNewsday: Nabokov to make 10th straight start for #Isles. Lineup to come, but likely to remain same as last two games.

Go on Stubhub the day of the game and you will find some really good deals.

So what's the deal with Joensuu? He traveled with the team for over a week and still not in the lineup? Or is he just not ready? Seems like Islander injuries normally go way past expected time while it is not unusual for other teams players to come back on time or before schedule. So are we bargain basement on medical as well? I didn't expect him as a saviour but figured with Grabner out, JJ has to be better than boulton.

Lots of logical skepticism in this post. It's a bit of a mystery with Joensuu - the forgotten one.

I am curious why he hasn't been sent to BP for conditioning, get some actual games in. He hasn't played in a long long time, since pre-lockout in Europe where he got hurt after 20-25 games as I recall.

Big game!

Winning this next game puts us at about a 50/50 chance to make the playoffs. Losing drops us to about a 38% chance of making the playoffs.

The number seems to be about 12 wins in the remaining 20 games with some OT games mixed it to give us a very good chance at the playoffs. Going 12-7-1 puts us at a 90% chance.

Oh well, one game at a time. Go Isles!

Probably is good to go.. You know how Cappy is when it comes to switching up the line up it never makes sense.

Did you ever see "The Natural"? Cappy is Pops, Wang is The Judge, and Joensuu is Roy Hobbs with the Wonderboy hockey stick he made himself out of a lightning-struck tree in Finland. Now we just need Reasoner to skate through the boards like Bump Bailey did....

With Pitt and Mont coming in after ottawa, this is an absolute must for the islanders...i dont see the islanders getting any more than 2 points in those following 2 games

We have played them well, we won 6-3 and 4-3 in OT...Montreal is 19-5-4 overall though, we would actually be responsible for 1/3 on Montreal s loses this season. Not sure that will happen And we havent even been close against pitt

Haha. A bit.

I think my favorite part about it in relation to sports is when you are in the middle of watching a game and realize it means absolutely nothing -- all the stats go out the window. Still fun to obsess over between games.

Really? I happen to remember the Islanders beating the Penguins 4-1 back in January, but I could be mistaken.

On National TV as well.

But let's worry about the Senators first. Then we can move on to Montreal and Cindy.

when the Isles (ie. Tavares & Nabokov) is "on", they can beat anyone.

If the opponents are also "on" - well that's a different story. But the Isles have enough talent to beat anyone, and they often will have the best player on the ice for both teams in JT (with some rare exceptions)

If they can ever get consistent, find secondary scorers, battle with consistency - well, then it would likely be a different team.

Let's start with a win tonight, then go from there!
