So if the rumors are true and the Jets are shopping Burmi around for a top 6 forward what are some realistic returns the Jets might get for him? Jets are pretty solid at D so i believe if we did deal him it would be for a top 6.

Small and weak offensive center with 0.331 ppg in 175 games. Not worth a lot.

Burmistrov isn't going to land them a top 6 player, he's SUPPOSED to be a top 6 player for them, if he's failed to do that, what makes their GM think he can pawn him off for one that is producing. I mean if a guy is producing to be a top 6 player, he's producing.

Maybe Burmistrov for Kulemin, both get a change of scenery to produce elsewhere.

Calling him weak and an offensive centre shows that you have never seen him play but I can't argue the rest.

Who said Burmi is being shopped?

Canucks have to be on this. Its exactly what we need.

Do a three way with Schneider going somewhere.

Well yeah, calling him offensive seems to be bit reaching, considering his production. Calling him weak might also be a slight understatement.

I'd think if they were shopping him they'd be looking for a 1 for 1 swap with another promising but not great fit at RW, C or LD.

Leblanc could use a change of scenery, also. Was doing well this year until he had a high ankle sprain. I'd add a 2nd from the Habs or a 2nd tier prospect to even it out.

Leblanc was a mid 1st round pick and has looked decent on a line with Eller and AK at the NHL level and played on Team Canada on the U20 WJHC.

Who said he was being shopped? There's a difference between being shopped and teams calling about him.

Jets would be dumb to trade him now when his value is low.

He might be "small" but he is the only player I have seen that dropped Chara twice with a check.

Spot on. And that means they're not trying to shop him IMO.

Burmi for Jones +, OK I know I'm dreaming, but the tought of having Burmi, Landeskog and O'Reilly on the same line is just mind boggling.

I'd like to have him on the Leafs. What would be the asking price?

Is Burmistrov good defensively? Why is he scratched?

I remember watching two early season Jets games and he looked great in both those games...I thought he would break out this year.

A former top 10 pick that is still a top 10 player from his draft. Hasn't proven himself offensively yet. I don't see how his value has dropped, unless his peers from his draft classes value has also dropped. He has proven as much, if not more, at the NHL level as: Nino Niedderietter, Brett Connolly, Mikael Granlund, Ryan Johanson.

Those are his draft peers, who have proven less than him. Why exactly has his value dropped while they would return an arm and a leg? It makes literally zero sense

None of the above players have broken out offensively, and all are worse than Burmistrov defensively.

Living in Winnipeg I have not heard these rumours. Speculation is probably a better word since he has been scratched.

It's better to keep your mouth shut and be thought a fool than to open it and remove all doubt.

Burmistrov is a defensive center. He has been playing mostly third-line minutes and PK - no one who has ever watched him or knows anything about the Jets would call him an offensive center. He also hits a lot and has a strong lower body despite his size. He knocked Chara on his ass several times and got Elias, a normally calm player, completely riled up last year (I don't know why).

His offensive game may or may not develop. He has great hands that have brought about comparisons to Datsyuk (along with his defensive play) but his positioning and more importantly his ability to work within the Jets system has been really lacking.
