That's probably true, best to give them a Yakupov, don't want to be rude.

Matthias has more goals than Paajarvi has points... Matthias as many goals as he has had in any other season but in 30 GP... if Matthias was here we would love him to bits and be demanding 1sts for him... penciling him into our core
He's having a decent year this year, good thing this isn't the only year of hockey ever.

Matthias 236gp 34g 38a 72pts

PRV 145gp 23g 27a 50pts

And PRV is 3 years youngers.

That seems like the kind of reasonable deal a team would keep... if the Panthers are dumping any contracts for 2nds and Peckhams it will be less talented or valuable players than Kopecky... he is easily worth a 1st...
Worth a first, probably, again might be nicer to give them Yakupov.

It is a fairly reasonable contract, until you consider the situation Florida is in with contracts.

Just a bit of "tied up" money.

Horcoff being talked about as a good draw winner still?

I'll take his 49.5% everyday over the 42% the others have. Also if you would've read I put or defensively responsible. Horcoff knows what to do if he loses the draw.

Under 50% for the last 4 years. His charming -29, -2, -23 plus minus the last 3 years (not to mention a -22 in 2006/07) can all attest to just how great he is defensively.

The brothers Grimm will have to write Horcoffs biography, so many fables.

Craig Button thinks that Edmonton should go after Robyn Regehr.

It would be a rental, we'd probably have to clear a d spot if we were to do that. What would Edmonton do? Trade Whitney?

Is Regehr any better than Fistric now?

Move Potter or Peckham? It doesn't seem to make a lot of sense to me.

Regehr-Fistric 3rd pairing?

Even if he is no longer a top 4 (and I cannot attest to whether he is, or he isn't... haven't watched him play since the (F)Lame days), he could still help the defense on the 3rd pairing. If he is still able to play top 4, all the better.

It likely would mean doing the waive with Peckham and Potter.

And even with his rediscovered scoring touch, I still want Whitney gone... still a pylon out on the ice, just a pylon that gets a few points now.

We need to trade Whitney regardless. The real need is for a real top 4 guy, though,. Adding Regher to a roster that already has five bottom pairing defenders isn't gonna help much.

Bishop to the Oilers

The Oilers need to look at a backup goalie. Dubnyk is doing well as the #1 man but they still need a good #2 cause Habby is done after this season.

So what would it take to get Bishop?

Bishop for Tubert/Potter and 3rdp . . . would that be far?

Or they could do a package deal . . .

EDM: Bishop, Smith, 1rdp

OTT: Hemsky, Tubert/Potter, 2rdp

I don't know what do you think it would take????

Good god no. I'm NO fan of Bishop, I don't buy the hype, but I'm interested in Smith, not that Ott would move him.

adding a pick on top of hemsky and teubert is a bit overkill. bishop isn't even a proven starter. cost of a back up goalie. i would trade maybe teubert and a pick. or just hemsky

We should trade for Vanek, since we already signed him.

I dunno, might need to add Pietrangelo, Weber, Doughty, and Shattenkirk on top of that just to have a chance at playoffs!

If Calgary does sell, send a 2nd for Glencross. Feaster needs to stock the cupboards.

I don't know it's quite enough, and if Buffalo is "re-building" Hemsky isn't really an ideal piece.

Halpern, 37 yo, 6', 200lbs, $700,000 UFA in 2013. 56% on draws, but in 30 games played this year, he's scored... ONE point.

We somehow identified a centre who is even more of an offensive black hole than Eric Belanger.

point 1: waiver claim, no loss in assets.
point 2: if we pick him up, then we have to put a guy on waivers. believe it or not, I would rather have Peckham or Potter than this guy.

And at 37 yo, he's probably on his last legs, I'm not even sure he will play in the league next season.

I would rather be interested in Shawn Matthias, he's the lone Florida Panther who has a positive plusminus stat. I recall an interview a last week (or two) where he expressed his frustration at the team losing games and possibly missing the playoffs again.

He's 25 yo centre who is 6'4 and 225 lbs, on his second contract for $900K, expires in 2013. He rarely gets PP time in florida. His hockeysfuture prospectus expresses some offensive potential and the ability to penalty kill.

http://www.hockeysfuture.com/prospects/shawn_matthias/

I like his potential as a defensive centre replacement at 3rd line, really good size and the right age for us. But I wonder why Florida would be interested in giving him up at all.

Glencross is probably the one guy they're not moving.

haha nice one.

More than likely, they would simply repel one another and the puck would be lost in a time-space continuum vortex.

I see glencross as their next captain in line honestly. He's probably the best younger player on that team.

His offense has come along as they expected, I think, and they have other youngsters on the way, Howden, Shore, Trocheck and Bjugstad. They also have Grimaldi coming, possibly to lecture everyone.
