Probably Luc Robitaille for LA if we're talking hockey. He's really just one of the nicest guys and he loves the city and he loves the Kings almost unconditionally. I think for that he gets a ton of respect not only from Kings fans but from all the LA fan bases that know of him.

I'd have guessed Marcel Dionne.

Payton yes, but I don't know about Bobby Hull. Hull left many fans disappointed when he jumped to the WHA.

The funny part about that story is that Hull had no desire to jump to the WHA. When he was being pursued by the WHA Hull made a tongue-n-cheek outrageous demand of $1,000,000 to play and the WHA obliged.. So I really can't blame him, however for a time some did.

Obviously the ill feelings are gone now but I suppose my point is that Hull was far from being immune from criticism.

Bobby Hull is unanimously loved and is a grandfather to all Hawks fans. Anyone who knows any history of what happened with him, the Hawks, the NHL, and the WHA unconditionally love him.

He has a freaking statue lol

Teemu Selanne here in Orange County but I'm sure 95% of the people here don't know who he is.

By the way, it's hard to say for Calgary. I think it would be Lanny Mac. Nieuwendyk is better known for his time with the Stars, Vernon's kind of a dick, we all know about the fall of Theoren Fleury... the next player would probably be Jarome Iginla but he's not finished yet.

... I guess Hakan Loob might fall into this category somehow as well?

I once stood behind him leaving the Terminator 3-d show at Universal. As a Duck fan I have always had much respect for him.

I dare anyone to come to Montreal and say something something negative about the Rocket.

Equivalent to the scene in Dir Hard wich takes place in Harlem. If you know what I mean.

The fact that he isn't already is a crime.

You are likely to get shot in the Detroit city limits even if you don't bad mouth Konstantinov

Franchise is too young to have a true comparable, but Rinne and Vokoun are/were both loved by the fanbase and rarely criticized.

Same here. The respect part, not the standing near him. I have been on Terminator 3D, though. It was pretty awesome.

And Yeah, Teemu is definitely a guy you can't talk about. Although I don't think many Ducks fans would fight about it. We're kind of pacifists.

Bobby. Right now Bergeron.

Non-hockey: Brady or Bird

All of 'em B's. Coincidence?

Kirk Muller was a great captain for you.

Alfredsson for our fanbase. Probably Roy/Sundin-Sittler-Gilmour for the other fanbases in Ottawa.

As far as the city goes, it's Stan Musial (though i can't think of anything people would say against him)

For the fan base, I'd guess the Plager brothers are pretty much untouchable.

Minnesota is nice, thus the "Minnesota nice" tag but I would wager a strong guess Zach Parise is someone you will not be able to talk poorly about now, and in the years to come. He is Minnesota's own. You also put in Joe Mauer in baseball and it's pretty damn awesome. Zach and Joe are Minnesotans who could have stayed/headed to the bright lights and played in a "sexier" city/state. But they wanted their native state. Not only is that a great story all around, but the natives here take pride and joy as a result.

Minnesotans are still nice though so instead of wanting to beat someone in the head for ripping Parise or Mauer, they might just swear under the breath instead. lol

This was so funny.

I am a Cleveland native but have a set of relatives in Detroit and when we drive to Windsor, Ontario, for the awesome casino up there, I do feel the need to duck in order to avoid the shots while driving through the bad parts of Detroit.
