Bozak to Hawks

We can use him as a 2nd/3rd line C
Great faceoff guy with offensive upside
Suspect D, but on a strong defensive team can be protected

What would be a good value for Bozak?

McNeil?

No thanks.

And trust me, McNeil isn't going to be enough.

I'd trade him for little if we had someone to replace him

We need a top center.

We can't trade Bozak without getting one back

Bozaks value is probably a ~late 1st. McNeil is intriguing due to his size, but it seems like his stock has dropped since being drafted, not risen, which isn't a good sign.

Pirri is also an interesting prospect. So maybe something like McNeil or Pirri + a conditional pick if Bozak resigns in Chicago (conditional 2nd or 3rd). Or just a 1st round pick with no prospects attached.

I'd consider it for Mark McNeill.

Curious why wouldn't you want him?

Can win faceoffs , Solid defender , Ok offensive ability

If cost is Pirri + conditional pick (Depending on Hawks abilty to sign him) then i am 100% for acquriing him

For Mcneill ,, Not sure to be honest... Dont want to give up Mcneill for a rental

Can someone describe Pirri for me? Never have seen him play, what type of player/role does he project to be?

Small centre that has a high skill level, a decent shot, and isn't terrible defensively (improving, used to be considered a big weakness). Probably doesn't have the speed you'd hope for from a little guy though.

If Nonis were to trade for another center in a separate deal or if the Leafs just completely collapse like last year then its a definite yes for them, Mcneill is a pretty good haul for an upcoming UFA Bozak.

Bozak isn't a 1st line center, but he can be a legitimate #2
he isn't very big or stong but also isn't a defensive liability

his best attributes are his face-off ability and speed

if he was available at the deadline i would think he would get a late 1st from a contender

the problem is Toronto doesn't have a replacement for him

but the leafs should trade a top 6 center when they are trying to make the playoffs for the first time in almost a decade?

To be honest, 2013 is a shallow draft and you're talking a late 1st... I mean they could certainly capitalize on it but if Bozak is what the Hawks think can get them to the cup, a 2013 1st , Pirri and Lalonde (or a prospect like Lalonde) is something that might get it done.

Bozak I believe is currently playing on their 1st line (can anyone confirm that?), so for a playoff team trading their no.1 center, another one would have to come back...

so Bozak+ (small+) for Bolland?

thats why they very well may let him go at the end of the year as a UFA, because they see such longterm value as a "top 6 center".
is he even on pace for a 40pt season this year?
whos giving up a first round pick for bozak? ive got some players to move....

First time I've heard 2013 be named a shallow draft.

Hypothetically, Bozak's value is right around chicago's drafting position in the first round. However them wanting to move the pick is another story.

If Chicago can re-up him to a 4m deal for multiple years do they do it?

what doest that have to do with the leafs needing him to help them try and make the playoffs?

his contract status or his point totals are irrelevant. we have absolutely nothing to replace him with internally. im also not convinced that he wont be resigned. the leafs are not in a position to overpay him but i dont see why nonis wouldnt try and sign him to a reasonable contract ($3-$3.5 x 3/4 years). he is a good 2b or 3rd line center moving forward.

what does a first round pick have to do with anything? i never suggested his value was a 1st.
