Or Nick Boka. I wonder if Erie takes Day, that they are looking at gauging the interest level in Boka or Warren with that #21 overall pick.

My bad, I forgot about Kingston's pick. Yes, they would take Spencer if he is at #5.

Imagine, Crouse, or Mackenzie or Spencer still available at #7. Wow for Sudbury. They will then have a choice between 2 of the above, plus Big K and Speers.

April 6 should be very interesting.

Day will go first, then the real question becomes does Erie like Konency or Strome better? Spencer won't go to Ptbo so they likely choose between the left over of Strome/Konency and Henley

Saw Boka play this past weekend and he has tremendous speed, and stood out many times, but wasnt as consistent as Hanfin.

BUT YES, if he could go to Ottawa with pick #20, or if ERIE drafted Day at #2, and then BOKA or Warren at #21, WOW.

I think Spencer is gone at #4. Kingston has Mckeown and Diperna should break out next year. So they have 2 fleet footed defenseman. If anything I think Kingston needs a stay at home "Shut down" defenseman OR a big winger. I think they go big winger at #5 and thats Lawson Crouse. It will be very interesting, especially after the #6 pick and later.

Hanifin is a very special player. Not many touch him. The U17 USA squad is going to have a very special team. In fact they should contend for Olympic or WJC gold medals in the future, with the supply they have in the pipe line.

I hear that Hanifin is going to join Patrick Roy in Quebec?

Not eligible for OHL.

Kirwan was at the NTDP camp and hurt his shoulder in the first scrimmage. He didn't play anymore but was at camp the entire time.

Um, I agree with you and stated that in the quote....I didn't judge Day (my entry was a response to Lowry), actually trying to suggest people should not listen to rumours.

Peace out.

Somebody wanted another mock draft. With all the recent chatter, let's try this:

1. Ottawa: Sean Day
2. Erie: Dylan Strome
3. Peterbrough: Travis Konecny
4. Mississauga: Matt Spencer
5. Kingston: Lawson Crouse
6. Niagara: Troy Henley
7. Sudbury: Brett McKenzie
8. Saginaw: Kyle Capobianco
9. Sarnia: Mitchell Stephens
10. North Bay: Blake Speers
11. Sault Ste. Marie: Nikita Korostelev
12. Guelph: Cameron Lizotte
13. Oshawa: Michael Davies
14. Kitchener: Garrett McFadden
15. Barrie: Matt Kries
16. Plymouth: Ethan Szypula
17. Owen Sound: Hayden McCool
18. Belleville: Mitch Vande Sompel
19. London: Connor Walters

No Luke Kirwin on the roster sheets???

During first scrimmage, #11 or #12 white got hurt. Was that him? But sheets say #12 was a Luke Kunin from St. Louis??

Why would Peterborough even consider passing on Day?
Crouse (sp)

Crouse at third overall doesn't really make a whole lot of sense. There should be better options.

Saginaw will take Stephens. Don't think Barrie will take Kries. I think the rest could be close.

I wasnt there to say. I was at the OHL combine. I just heard he was injured. There is some speculation about a few of those top American kids, playing CHL hockey. It will be interesting to see where a handful of them end up.

Yup Spencer but he won't report. Crouse is their man.

The problem I have with Saginaw taking a forward is that their defensive depth is so thin. Taking Stephens there would still leave a hole on D unless they know they can find a great D-man in the second or third round.

So you're saying that neither Konecny nor Strome will report to the Petes? From what I can tell, Strome will go where he's picked, and I doubt Konecny would create a fuss there.

Saginaw has 3 2nds this year according to In the O radio's draft board. Our own, Windsor's, and Barrie. I feel they could pick Stephens and still grab 2 quality men with those 2 early seconds.

Saginaw has 3 2nd round picks so I could see them taking a forward as there should be some solid D for them in the 2nd round.

See that's my thinking too, but if they do draft Stephens they could still address the D. We did get Prophet in the second round last year. I think in the long run though, they'd be better served getting a D man with that first pick.
