I doubt Feaster would give up Stajan for a 2nd from a team that could potentially go deep in the playoffs.........

This seems like a pretty good option if that is all it would take.

Last year a 2nd would have seemed like a vast overpayment, if they are going to rebuild Stajan doesn't fit long term.

It might take a slight prospect as well but he wouldn't be nearly as expensive as guys like Filp to trade for and has a cheaper contract than Grabo.

Doubt Anaheim is a destination for him.
Quite a bit of that sounds like it was fueled by the fact that they were fighting for the same spot in the lineup. I agree, though, that it's too much of a risk for Anaheim to take.

I'm thinking either Roy or Stajan. Those two make the most sense.

Roy would be a great addition, but I'm not so sure about Stajan. He's not exactly the 1-2 punch you're looking for when playing the Blackhawks or the Bruins.

Stajan has 17 points, Roy has 16. Stajan is a + 10 on a -13 team, Roy is +7 on a -11 team. How is Roy that much better?

Roy has consistently put up points in the 40-60 range for his entire career. With a few outliers significantly above that.

I think the better comparison is that Roy is on a much more offensively deficient team.

You don't want to play the stats game.

Roy has a career .77 ppg.

Stajan has a career .47 ppg.

Yeah, doesn't seem like they'd be good trade partners at this point.

Stajan was in Sutter's dog house and wasn't given a fair chance at all, as soon as we get a coach who gives him a fair shot he goes back to a 50 point center with Stempniak and Glencross as his wingers, Roy plays with Eriksson and Jagr as his top wingers, I think Roy has the better linemates.

Also what does career ppg have to do with it, ANA is getting a player for this year so only this year should matter.

I would have to guess Mike Ribeiro is a guy they're very interested in.
Montreal can offer the ducks Tomas plekanec !but it'll cost them Bobby Ryan there contract r about the same and the value is real close !just the leaf fans will disagree !

Sorry if mentioned but I could see Brassard as a fit in Duckville. He's playing very well right now and I'm a fan but for some reason I see him getting moved.

im not sure if this has been said since i didn't feel like going through 12 pages haha but any chance the flyers are involved. I wont be that guy that mentions couts or ryan just to avoid arguments. Maybe if briere agreed to waive his no movement for some defensive help and late picks

Trading Ryan would diminish the point of bringing someone in. We are in a position to retain Ryan through his contract and get a center for him for the playoffs.

Briere would be nice, and even though he is only a $3M salary the next two years, his $6.5M cap hit now presents a big problem for the Ducks with the signings of Perry and Getzlaf.

Is there anyway to get John Tavares without giving up Ryan?

There's no way to get John Tavares with Ryan as the centerpiece....

EDIT: I guess that's not true, but not with any sort of plausible package.

Filpula + for Ryan ... Filps idol is Teemu - maybe he can help get him to stick around a few more years.
