It's a pretty fair argument. A lot of the punishment he takes is clearly from being in front of the net on the PP, though it's mostly from opposing defensemen rather than shots. What you conclude from that is a subjective matter, but there's really no arguing against the fact that he gets banged up and even injured as a direct result of this role.

Ott just referred to Pysyk as "Pisser" on the post-game interview. We officially must call him Pisser from now on.

+Enroth
+Ville, loved the play to set up Ennis's goal
+I thought Regehr had a good game
+Foligno shaking the plates in Emelins face
+Ott

-Can't hold onto the lead and win in regulation
-Closing this gap is about as likely as me sending the club money for playoff tickets

I made this same point a couple of seasons ago and got as badly beat up by the crew here as Vanek does on the ice

And summarily informed that Vanek loves that part of the game and takes the abuse because it puts him in great position to get his wrister off.

Geez, I thought it was a Ruff dog house punishment regime.

Reminded me of Nixon (LBJ?) picking up his dog by the ears, watching the dog spatz out and Tricky Dickie telling everyone the dog loves it!

G - Ott and Enroth

U - Thinking we can protect a 2 goal lead for 40 minutes. This team constantly blows leads by going into a shell.

How many regulation wins? One? Two? Anyways, this league's stupid scoring system dictates that .500 is not really league average.

I realize it's mostly sarcasm but "6 points out" when all games are conference only is a lot closer to 10 points out with all of the 3 point games. Those teams all have a game in hand on us as well.

By the looks of where Vanek got hit with that shot he's going to be pissing blood for a day or two. One sore guy in the morning.

I want the better pick but I want Enroth to win all of his starts.

the only question....

does Rolston have the balls to come back with Enroth again on Thursday?

(the irony being Miller being unable to complain about it without looking like an even bigger hypocrit)

Hope of what? Making the playoffs? I don't know why you'd want to see this team make the playoffs. They'd get utterly destroyed by a Boston, Montreal or Pittsburgh in the first round. I have zero desire to see that, so I'm not sure what "hope" we should be holding out for.

In before the "anything can happen" argument.

Wins are always gratifying and yes in the moment I would prefer to win than lose. However in the grand scheme of things and seeing how pathetic this team is I want to lose.

I think the people still hoping playoffs can happen are the ones who fail to understand that every single game played in the east is putting Buffalo farther and farther in the hole since there are no out of conference games.

Look at the West vs East record for the last 5 years or so. There was a 65% chance when an Eastern team played a Western team that Buffalo would gain ground on them. That doesn't exist this season. And with Buffalo being 2nd to last in the East, anytime a team not named Florida wins Buffalo's hole gets deeper and deeper.

It would take two maybe three teams losing 5 in a row with Buffalo winning 5 in a row for them to have any chance at all. And since those three teams would most likely play each other at some point it wouldn't even happen. And with all of the 3 point games every night, you get the point. Fully expect Buffalo to be well over 10 points from 8th place by the time the season ends.

That is an interesting question. He's demoted stafford to the 4th line, has had Hecht in and out of the line up, he's played 2 Amerks and a rookie as his 3rd line ahead of Hecht/Stafford, sat Kaleta one game more than his suspension and recently demoted Vanek.

He's certainly shown he will do what he wants with this roster. So maybe its a bigger possibility than we think.

Uh, that would be the long-dead Mr. Pres. (you-doesn't-have-to-call-me) Johnson.

The dog loved it as much as Vanek loved getting nailed with a puck tonight.

Be a pretty big message to the team if he was sat against the team he's made much of his career off of.

Maybe..he is just an interim coach so possibly he will take some risks to win and keep his job, or the opposite and he will just play it safe. He had the balls to bench vets like Kaleta and Hecht, I think he may just roll with Enroth and I can't wait for the controversy it starts if Enroth plays and wins on Thursday.

- And not because I am a Miller hater, I actually think he's been good and no goalie could put up good numbers behind this defense, but any drama is just fun at this point for entertainment purposes.

-Otter. Loved him today. Everything from calling out Harrington to scoring goals to admitting to the nose pick on Twitter
-Leino. Nice to see him playing well. Hopefully he can keep it up.
-Enroth.
-Beating Montreal.
-Florida also got 2 points, so no ground lost.

Ott - 16 points, trolls Harrington, trolls opposing players, leads the team in hits. Likely one of the more vocal guys in the dressing room.

Roy - 16 points, nothing else. Okay, I know he was hurt for a little bit..but still.
