Every single NHL team wants Sustr. It doesn't make to much of a difference to sign guys like this as he either waits for Sustr or they figure their out of it
This is a one way deal. He's going to be on the roster next year, or waived. Is this correct for those cap guys out there?
I thought one-way deal just meant his salary is the same whether he's in the NHL or the AHL? Wasn't Read's deal a one way deal too?

I highly doubt this guy is a 4th liner.
I was expecting him to look a lot smaller on the ice. He's either playing with a bunch of other midgets or he's not that small. Anyway, just look at TB, they have St. Louis, Conacher, and Tyler Johnson all in their lineup and playing well. I wouldn't worry too much about his size.

I'm not worried about his size. This is a low risk signing. If he turns out to be a 4th liner that's fine. If he turns out to be another Read that's even better.
homer never signs the guys he should be signing like a **** n Dman.
Signing players isn't as easy as hitting the "A" button and offering them a contract. GMs have to go through agents who are trying to get the best deal for their client. A player of Sustr's caliber (I'm assuming you're talking about him) is going to wait as long as he can until the best offer comes around.

I'm pretty sure McGinn would be the one to replace him if he were traded. I think Flanagan still has some time before he's a regular with the Flyers. I hope he proves me wrong though.
Anyway I like the signing. Seems like a smart hockey player. Good to see Homer adding to our prospect pool too.

Yea I misunderstood what a 1way contract was. I thought he would have to go through waivers to get to the AHL. Making it likely that he would have stayed up.
little risk to this at all. gotta admit I never heard of him. Then again I dont see much ECAC hockey. like what I read in the write-up of him. ADK can use all the offense they can get. Still at 48 contracts for this season as well. Im keeping my fingers crossed on Sustr.

Really, did anyone read the Corey Perry interview in which he said he'd thought about playing close to home with Leafs, or close to London with Detroit, but opted to stay a Duck.
Homer might not have known it, but there was not point clearing room for Perry, he wasn't coming here anyway....

Toronto Sun: Corey Perry felt lure of Maple Leafs, Red Wings before re-signing with Ducks
Do we have any reason to believe that the Flyers were targeting Perry? I mean, if he had reached UFA, I'm sure they would have made an offer--they make a play for most marquee free agents--but that's a bit different from actively clearing room.
I suspect they know that the big money investment has to be on the blue-line.
I don't even think I ever thought that Testwuide was going to be anything more than a 4th liner. From what this is saying, he may be small, but his skills are better than Testwuide's.
