Our top need, if we keep Miller, is a two way centre who is strong in the dot.

Miller post game last night was like he was at a funeral.

A large part of this team is broken and defeated. Fans can argue back and forth about keeping these guys, bringing them back, trading them, blah blah blah...

... Miller is never going to a cup with Buffalo. Pominville isn't. Vanek isn't. These are the team leaders and they just aren't leaders. They aren't mentally tough enough.

The only chance we have to be relevant in the next 3-5 years is to rebuild without them.

Andrew Peters basically said today if you trade our veteran players and go young the team will be terrible all the young players will get hurt and beat up.

Haha what? The first part is probably true, but what does the second part even mean? I don't think Miller/Vanek/Pominville are really protecting our young guys from physical harm.

so basically, it will be the same as the last few years... with them, or without them?

Quote:
blakeprice1040 Reports out east say R.Miller has given list of 8 teams he "won't" be traded to. Add him to crowded goalie market. Lui trade=water into wine
He works for Team 1040 in Vancouver.

So, we assume the 8 teams includes terrible teams and locations he doesn't want to go to... but he and his agent probably excluded teams that had young goaltending in place that would be unlikely destinations, like Winnipeg, to give themselves more destinations to omit
ok....

Columbus
Calgary
Florida
Tampa Bay
Edmonton
NY Isles
Washington

I'm pretty sure Miller gave the list to Reiger before the start of the year.

If your source is Strickland, he's pretty hit or miss.

That's why I'd like to know the specifics of what TSN had to say.

They are citing Andy Strickland as their source.

Ha, well that's useless then.
I guess the growing noise could be taken as a sign it may actually be happening, but the noise is coming from unreliable sources, so..

To be honest.. I can't remember who it was .. just remember reading it.

However... say Miller did give him list in beginning of year.... Is he bound to that list today?

I'm sure Miller has provided a list to Regier...but given where the goalie market is at its likely both parties know there is little chance of a trade will go down. Regier needs to be prepared in the event something falls into his lap and I'm sure at this point in his career Miller would welcome a change of scenery.

He'd be on a defensive minded team for 1 year (driving his goalie stats up to get him a massive UFA payoff a la Bryzgalov)

I think he'd love being traded their

Yeah, swap Tampa for Phoenix. Tampa Bay is a really nice area and they have some talent there.

The problem is who knows how long they will actually be in Phoenix.

Personally, I think Miller cares more about winning than being close to SoCal.

Agreed. I think priority #1 for him is winning a Cup.

Sabres captain Jason Pominville, clearly agitated by trade talk, says team has not asked him to submit list of teams he'd go to.
