My God, as excited as I am for this game, I so wish it was backed with some long missing confidence that the team, a real team will show up and compete on a nightly basis. Something we have not had in several years and I miss that more than anything. I can deal with running into a hot goalie, or bad reffing once in awhile but this never ending cringing at every defensive zone pass or breakout attempt has worn me down for years.
This 4 game stretch has been encouraging but we have seen this before, only to be heartbroken when things start looking positive. That's the worst feeling and it will take a 20 game stretch of good solid hockey to get me feeling real Oiler pride again.
Tonight is as big a game as we have played in some time, I only hope the players in the dressing room agree and dig deep tonight. I, we, as a life long fans deserve that, so just do it dammit, it's show~time now. Serve notice that we are now a "team" and demand some respect...or die trying at least.
RNH needs to man up, the "sniffles" isn't a good enough reason to miss a game.
What a ridiculous statement
You act as if he has allergies and just needs to take a Benadryl (sp?). How do you know that he doesn't have Influenza, Norovirus, etc?
I guess you'd be down to go up against a guy like Joe Thornton with any of the above conditions that I've mentioned above? Of course you would, you wouldn't care if you repeatedly soiled yourself on national TV and turned the ice brown right?

My best guess is that Smyth will jump up to play C between Jones and Eberle, Petrell will take shifts at C on the 4th line and Harti gets in.
The only silver lining here is that SJ has absolutely no depth scoring from their bottom 6 so we might get away with this. Hopefully we stay out of the box so Smyth and Horcs don't have to do to much extra work or the 3rd could get ugly.
