This was the speculation, I'd come to ask about.

So, most SJ and Philly fans don't think there's any credibility behind Seravalli's comments?

Seeing as the article thinks that Burns is a defensive liability and a "reclamation project", it has absolutely no credibility whatsoever.

How strong is the upcoming draft suppose to be?

If the Sharks manage to get a first and change for Clowe and trade Boyle at the draft, they could net another 1-2 1st/2nd rounders. Add to that, if they decide to change the culture even more, they can trade one/some/all of Marleau, Pavelski and Thornton and net even more 1st/2nd rounders and restock the cupboard in virtually one draft or package some in a trade to move up or pick up a younger star.

If the new owner wants a new direction, that'd be a quick way to go a new direction with the organization and start drafting pieces to do so.

Zero. Burns has been excellent when he has been healthy, our best overall defensemen easily. We are 100% happy with him, aside from the injuries, and hopefully that is behind him at this point. Trading him now would serve no purpose as he is in fact healthy (and tearing it up at forward).

Yes, we've been talking about exactly that quite a bit. It is starting to smell like the owner wants exactly that, to put his mark on the team by changing the direction. Doug Wilson even used the word roster 'refresh' which seems to imply a lot more than trading Clowe and Murray. We expect major moves this off-season, and this is the draft to do it in.

Trading Clowe and Boyle could mean 6 picks in the top 60. Trading any combination of the rest of Thornton/Marleau/Pavelski and even Havlat only adds more. Packaging them up or trading some for NHL ready prospects still means having 4-5 Top 50 prospects. Bound to hit on one if to a couple.

2-3 in the top 30 would be ideal. Our own pick could end up top-15 easily if things continue. If we deal Thornton/Pavelski/Marleau in the off-season we could possibly get some other high picks as well. Just has to make sense.

Even better if they are all forwards with at least one being a natural winger.

I can only see Boyle being moved and possibly Pavelski but not for futures.

My hope is Boyle and Thornton with a clean sweep of front office and coaching personnel. High hopes, baby.

Since we're coming up on deadline, here's the scout list at HP: EDM, BOS, NYI, TOR, MTL, CBJ, PIT, OTT, CHI, COL, STL.
Retweeted by David Pollak

Only half are WC teams. We've already finished playing STL and CHI this year (IIRC).

Chicago could be prescouting since they play on Friday. St. Louis is legit scouting.

Trade Clowe now. Shoot to make the playoffs and let it ride. Trade Boyle and whoever else before the draft and continue the refresh the roster, ideally with one or more pieces being NHL ready.

Personally, I would prefer to keep Marleau and Pavelski. We know Marleau will stay and take an affordable (not cheap, but affordable) contract. Hopefully Pavs will do the same.

But move Clowe now. Add Handzus and Burish if there are any takers. Then move Boyle and Thornton at the draft.

I wouldn't wet myself, but I would be bouncing with joy.

You're gonna eat a big delicious bowl of crow when Thornton accepts a contract for 5.5M and Marleau demands a Perry like contract.
