Has he really fallen off that much? He looked to be a budding superstar only a couple of seasons ago it seems.

It's the highlight reel stuff. He can't read the offense on the PP. Too many Britney moments to be a shutdown.

They handed him shutdown and have since rotated it to Ehrhoff and Regehr. That should tell you something. Regehr is so slow, it is like assigning shutdown duties to Murray for the Sharks which as you could see would be a grave mistake. Part of Buffalo's issue is their lack of a true shutdown guy.

What we got for Murray definitely gets me excited about what Clowe might fetch.

I fully expect Clowe to be traded before the deadline. What we trade him for will be really telling in the direction the team is going. If we trade him for picks/prospects, then I would assume a retool this offseason. If we trade him for guy(s) that can jump right into the line up, then I would guess we are sticking with the plan.

I don't think he'll get traded no matter what. If he can't get anything decent, might as well keep him for the playoff run (if it's still possibly by April).

If they kept Clowe but managed to get 7th round picks out of Gomez and Handzus, I'd be okay with it. lol

What's everyone's thoughts on Lucic? I've always liked his style of play. Hear he is struggling in Boston.
What would it take?

They'd ask for Couture or Burns, DW'd say "**** off!" and that would be the end of it.

Stay the hell away from Iginla, DW. Now trading for Jesus Toews or 20 Cent on the other hand, go ahead!

I'm sure we're just pre-scouting the Flames. Don't we play them soon?

Regardless, I don't think either team has any read trade interest from us.

Something around Stalberg and Clowe gets really interesting if the Sharks make the players and face Chicago at some point.

TSN's analysis this morning:
Plan D

..snip..

The Sharks have already moved Douglas Murray and rumours persist that Dan Boyle could be moved, but Seravelli believes the object of the Flyers' affection is six-foot-five defender Brent Burns.

Burns would be a longer commitment than Boyle by virtue of his four remaining years at $5 million-plus and Seravelli sees him as a perfect fit for a Philly reclamation project.
Really hope DW is having none of moving Burns.

It would be beyond idiotic. You can't replace Burns. Getting a relatively young #1 d-man is nearly impossible.

If they want Burns I want Braydon Schenn, Read, and a 1st.

Then we are free to trade Pavelski or Thornton + Boyle for a new #1 d-man + other stuff.

Burns could fetch quite a ransom...but naaahhh....He's looked pretty good to me at Forward and I'd leave him there...He's valuable to us at that spot IMO

idk if thats even enough, considering what we gave up and the way he's been playing. They wont trade Schenn though

Simmonds, Read,Couturier, 1st for Clowe and Burns

yeh like that'd happen haha
