You see Cooke's post-game interview?

What did he say?

I saw the incident, but it didn't look any more intentional than what happened with Kreider/Anderson. And I don't recall many Sens fans calling for Kreider's head.

Anyways, this Vokoun owner is hoping MAF needs a few days or weeks to recover.

In other news, it looks like Brian Elliott has remembered that he is, in fact, Brian Elliott. An .851 save percentage, and 3.65 GAA. Ouch. We have seen NHL goalies come into the league, look great, then quickly fade away, but I don't think we have ever seen a guy who broke in, looked promising, crashed and burned, had a Vezina calibre season, then crashed and burned yet again. Bizarre...

I don't think Elliott's season was really Vezina-worthy. He was playing behind a team that was regarded as the best defensive team in the league, he split his season roughly 50/50 with another goalie, and the other goalie posted similarly high numbers.

It might be a good time to get him on a 1-year contract, then. Buy low.

And different from our situation, where people are starting to wonder if Lehner and Bishop's numbers are a product of a 'system', the Blues limited the shots he faced to less than 25 almost every game. In fact, I recall him having two or three 15 save or less shutouts.

In Ottawa, we're giving up the 2nd most shots in the league.

Montreal off to a quick 1-0 lead. Who do we pick here?

I'm told Jarome Iginla will not be dressed tonight vs. COL but that doesn't necessarily mean deal is imminent or close. Protecting the asset
Must suck for Jarome to be in that situation right now..

You want to be out there and play for your team but the FO wants to make sure you keep your trade value.

Edit: Atleast there's a good chance he gets out of that mess in CGY and gets his chance to win a cup, but this still has to be a tough situation to be in.

We cheer for a non-three point game.

I think cheering for Boston to win in regulation is better. Division it hard to steal from them, fight for home ice advantage with Montreal

Us not playing Boston is always the best outcome, so I want them to win.

Pretty much this. If we we're to make the playoffs, I'd rather face the Canadiens than the Bruins.

It's gonna be weird seeing Iginla in a non-red uniform.

Random Thought: I think Rask is a damn good goalie. I also think he's the Bruins' Achilles' Heel. He's going to get outplayed by somebody this spring and cost the Bruins a series.

No joke, this COULD be the Habs unraveling point. They're playing over their head IMO.

I'm ok if they unravel -- just hope the Leafs go with them.

You know, I can't imagine how difficult Igilna's imminent trade has to be on Flames fans. At the one hand, you have to balance what's best for the long term health of the franchise, especially considering the last few years. However, watching the heart and soul of your team get scratched as an asset to be traded has got to be rough.

We're really lucky that the year has gone the way it has. Watching Alfie go through this same process would be heart wrenching.

Khochlachev, Bartkowski and a first? That seems like robbery for the Bruins, no?

Yep. Especially a Boston first. Won't be a very high pick.

Jay Feaster. That's about all you have to know.

That being said though, didn't Khochlachev outplay Yakapov at the WJC? I might be misremembering, but the trade isn't as terrible as some people on HF are saying. It's not great for sure, but it's not terrible.
