Ah nice thanks! Heh Filatov is above him. I guess they are still young enough for anything to happen though!

I'm not advocating that Schultz is better than Weircioch or vice versa. I'm just pointing out that if we HAD gotten Schultz, we probably would not have ended up with 2 premier up and coming dmen in he and Weircioch because Weir would have been burried under our depth. And also that would change our entire season so I find it silly to look back and think "what if".

I.e. "What if we'd drafted Kopitar over Lee, we'd have a Cup by now." Who knows? Maybe we would, maybe he wouldn't have developed into a star and maybe we wouldn't have Karlsson.

It's harder to discuss the moves we didn't make than the moves we DID make, like signing Butler

Worth it for the "The Butler did it!" headlines alone.

Edmonton haven't been able to score goals this year. They're 25th in GFPG. Pretty much everybody besides Schultz, Hall and MPS have disappointing point totals.

I will definitely give JS credit as he's not sheltered at all like Wiercioch has been but now PW is taking on more responsibility and he's continuing to trend upwards in all facets of the game. This is more of a reflection of the teams they play for rather than their abilities. I see them as equals.

Sam Gagner has 31 points in 33 games so you can add him to your list of players who don't have disappointing point totals.

Last year and this year, the threads were started by Rangers' fans. Pittsburgh fans are trying their best to downplay things.

Maybe we should start one on Montreal and how unstoppable they are?

You're right, that was a glaring omission on my part. Just forgot him. Love his game this year. Guy is a class act too. I think he should be the next captain there over Hall.

It's funny. Before this season started Oilers fans regarded Dubnyk and Gagner as expendable, but they've been Edmonton's two best players this year.

Tampa not looking all that impressive although the goalie is particularly awful

I wonder if their coach (I don't even know his name!) is interim or if they have committed to him already

Same deal as Nabokov. FA's should probably take some notice and stop knocking the Isle till they try it.

This is a crazy game in Calgary. 5-3 CBJ after 2.

They had a prolonged Iginla tribute. Standing ovation lasted for over a minute. Columbus took the next faceoff and scored the first goal of the game.

Yeah, that was an entertaining 2nd period between CGY-CBJ. 7 goals total scored, it was 1-0 CBJ after the 1st period.

I'm guessing that, before moving there, all they think about is 'I don't want to be stuck on a basement dweller' and then once they arrive they realize 'I forgot how close Nassau is to New York City.'

Yeah, I'm guessing being a sports star and millionaire in New York City is a pretty decent gig. Once they move to Brooklyn I expect them to be a very attractive spot for UFAs. Not to mention the allure of playing with John Tavares who may be the best forward in the NHL not named Sidney.
