Remember games like this when you talk about buying out Hossa.

Or when you think the Hawks can go deep in the playoffs with Bolland as a top-six center. I like Dave, but he only played well in his role the first handful of games. He looks like crap. We need him in a slot that will make him the guy him a fan favorite in the first place. Look at how bad Kane's line looks with Patty off his game.

Ideal lineup:

Saad-Toews-Hossa
Sharp-Roy/Ribiero-Kane
Bickell-Bolland-Stalberg
Hayes-Kruger-Shaw

No disagreement here. If anything, I'm glad they dropped a few games recently because it reminds everyone how big of a hole we have at 2C. We MUST get someone and not cheap and washed up like B-Mo; we need the REAL DEAL.

Dissapointing loss but you're going to have a few of those during the season.

I don't understand why everyone's argument for Bolland is "he's a playoff performer, he'll be good then". How do you all know that he will perform in the playoffs on the second line? When he has played well in the playoffs, it's been on the 3rd line. He's in a completely different role, which doesn't appear to suit him well, so what makes anyone think he'll step it up and be a different person in the playoffs confuses me.

Hawks lost both games to the Ducks so far this season. If the Ducks win next Friday night, it'll be a good indication that they're the best team in the Western Conference, or at least better then the Hawks.

Kinda hard to count a shootout loss as a loss (or a shootout win as a win). No skills competition in the playoffs.

Put Seabrook up as trade bait.

No way. Just picks and prospects and keep adding to the offer until we get a yes. It's a pretty simple formula. If the other team wants a roster player, bring another team into the deal. We've been waiting 15 years for this move, seriously. This team hasn't had a 2C as far back as I can remember. Brent Sutter is the only guy that comes to mind. ENOUGH!

Seabrook's been playing like crap much of the season. Half the time he looks disinterested out there. He's still good trade bait, and if we're gonna get a good 2nd line center, we'll have to make a reasonably attractive offer.

First off, IF we moved Seabrook, we need a 1C coming back, not a 2C. Secondly, I agree to disagree. I don't see this team winning anything without Seabs.

I love how everyone panics after a loss, even in a season where the Hawks have the best record in hockey.

Nobody is panicing but we're done with the whole, "team is complete and will win Cup, Bowman is so smart" thing. Back to same ole Bow, seeing the holes and turning a blind eye to them.

24-3-3

And when Bowman does do something well like trade for Oduya, that guy sucks and we paid too much anyway...

"It's a good measuring stick, (game against Anaheim), but at the same time we want to prove ourselves and show we're the best team in the West." ~ Patrick Kane

Didn't quite work out that way

Not really.
I watched the game last night. The Hawks were in control for most of it and had several opportunities to put the game away but had some back puck luck. Toews missed an open net, Kane missed an open net, Bollig missed an open net. At no point did I think the Ducks were clearly a better team. I think they were better in the 1st period and obviously for about a 2min stretch late in the 3rd when the Hawks decided to give the game away.

It happens. The only games where the Hawks looked clearly inferior were the Calgary game and the first Colorado game.

Ducks: 22-3-4, with a game in the hole.

So what? The Hawks were the 2 seed in 2010 as well. If the Ducks win the presidents trophy its not a big deal. Anyone remember what this board was like in March 2010 when the Hawks lost 8 of 11?

I'd rather be 3-3-24 and win the Cup. Batter up, it wasn't acceptable to me to punt last year but I can begrudgingly accept it given the team wasn't playing at a very high level but not this season. Q has done a great job. The players have done a great job. Bowman has watched. This falls on his head and his head only if he doesn't get a 2C and we lose because of it.

As a Hawks fan, you should. I sure as hell would like to see the Hawks end up as the number 1 seed.

But he can't just settle for any center.

Bowman has watched? Hossa, Saad, Shaw, Stalberg, Bickell (not drafted by, but signed by), Frolik, Kruger, Bollig/Mayers/Carcillo, Oduya, Leddy, Rosival, Emery.....all guys acquired by Bowman. They all suck though right?

**** that line of thinking. Do you not remember all of the heat Q was getting leading up into this season? Few were saying, "He coached the team to the Cup, nuff said" Why is baldilocks immune?

This fanbase really is amazing sometimes. We have the best record in the league, we lose a one goal game (with an empty netter) to one of the best teams in the league with 2 of our top 4 forwards out and all of a sudden we should be trading our #2 D and picking up a #2 C. Fans from other teams must come on this board and think "what the hell is wrong with these people?".
