He's a 22 year old playing on a relatively weak team. The hype train went completely out of control on him. That being said, he's still been pretty productive. This is what HFBoards does, though. A guy has a good/bad streak, everyone loses their minds, and then when equilibrium sets in it's somehow an unforeseen, surprising turn of events.

He read that he's a lock for Team Canada.
Players have their ups and downs.

Trying to carry a team on your back has to be exhausting. They go as far as Tavares can take them. Without him, that franchise is hopeless.

Doubt this thread will get much love. He started hot and hasn't been as productive. It will balance out and he will finish as a top 5 forward in the league. This is all most likely of course.
We are the Johnny T fan club. We are numerous, we are strong, and we will NOT be swayed.

I have no idea what you're watching. Just because he doesn't score doesn't mean he isn't being productive.....

The second line is playing well.
C'mon Start, you know the first AND second line both can't play well at the same time. That would mean too many wins!

I have never, ever heard of an NHL player going through a tough 10 game stretch before. Do the Islanders trade or waive him?

Great player, just going through a slump.
Despite what HF says, the guy is NOT a top 5 player. HF just loves its players between the ages of 20-25. Potential and age are the two most tangible things on this site.

Injuries and slumps happen
The Islanders should have won tonight
But seeing as I be a Senators fan
I'm glad they didn't
No hard feelings

Garth Snow : "Wait... you can use the waivers to get rid of players ? I thought that was just another farm system."

Do not worry. Game against the Habs is coming up and Tavares killed the Habs this season.

Bust. PPG pace only slightly better than last season. Should be double.
