Perhaps, Tokarski would have been better but the score is far from Desjardins' fault.

Guarantee the knee on knee Johnson took in the WBS series is slowing him. Hasn't looked the same since. Bet we find out later how bad it was. No Lee or Gudas is really showing as well.

So what your saying is WBS should get some credit for this situation for taking our our best F and D

Shame it ends this way. Obviously there's more hockey to be played but the Crunch have been outclassed by GR in every area of the game. Goaltending has been piss poor, the big guns are no shows/being totally and completely shut down by GR.

Not having Gudas doesn't help but he's not going to keep softies out and he's not going to frequently put pucks in.

And with a large portion of the Crunch roster penciled in for TB next year, this was probably their last chance for a couple of seasons until we can stock the team with picks.

Injuries are part of the game. Shows that the organization isn't as deep as it needs to be to win a championship. Mrzak is on fire, GRG PK > SYR PP.

Oberg and Mikkelson, ugh. Mikkelson started the game shaky, sorted it out midway through and fell apart toward the end. Oberg was just garbage on every shift.

Yes, it's unlikely they'll win 4 in a row but let's not start acting like we've lost until GRG have won their 4 games?

4th game is the hardest to win. That said, the Crunch haven't looked like the Crunch this entire series. Mainly because they're having to play 2 D far more minutes than they deserve and they have no physicality on the back end beyond Cote. Ceddy has been outplayed by Mrzak.

Vladdy has played well, Sustr looks pretty damned promising as well. JT Brown is flying around pretty well.

For about a ten minute stretch in the second after the 2 goals the Crunch really did a great job of shutting down the neutral zone and transition game. About the first time in the series and it didn't keep. Their goalie hasn't been great, but they are allowing way too much space in the neutral zone, that is the biggest difference in this series in my opinion. You cannot let the Griffins play transition hockey, part of the reason they lost so much to bottom feeder Peoria this year, they just didn't allow that. Playing with the neutral zone open is always to Grand Rapids advantages and has proved to be in this series as well.

Griffins have lost their first chance to clinch in every round, so they have had a little trouble closing series.

Game 3 observations.
Grand Rapids is the better team, PERIOD.
The Crunch are NOT playing like the team that started and ended the season. They are playing like the bunch of "Lost Boys" during the mid season who were on the ice when the NHL returned and the callups occurred.
Scorers are not producing. Probably the understatement of the year.
Lack of size and grit on the blueline is showing badly. No one is clearing the net with any consistency. While the forwards are taking the body, the only checks the defense are seeing are the ones they cash on a weekly basis.
Blame the loss of Gudas and Lee, the knee to knee on Johnson, blame whomever. Bottom line is Grand Rapids is about ten times hungrier than the Crunch for this year's title, and it is showing by the play on the ice.
On the plus side, this is the best any Crunch team has ever done and we are very proud of them. Thank you to the Tampa organization for this most wonderful season, and we look forward to many more as they young players continue to develop.

GR with a solid win. Blue line is so weak without Gudas. So much for the 3 ref rotation Lemelin appears to be gone. Hebert, Koharski and Burchell in house. Hint hint

At this point, I will believe in one game Friday to prevent getting swept.
