He is worth a 3rd rounder in my opinion, max. I can't see why teams would be lining up to get four goals for almost two million dollars when the cap is about to go down and his contract has years left on it.
I'm not going to re-explain why this is incorrect and irresponsible thinking at its finest.

Reassess the situation from all angles for yourself, and while you're at it, assess the true value of a 2nd rounder in the context in which it is given.

I seriously need to get people to start thinking critically around here instead of needing to be force-fed logic and information.

Except for some reason, either Tmac or DW, hates Demers. He's only played in 9 games this year and spends more time in the press box than on the ice. If they aren't going to play him, at least lets get something out of him. That was my initial premise when I threw his name out there. I'd rather see him in in teal for a long long time.

He's really the only piece I see that makes sense from a Flyers perspective.

I think the Sharks could get Talbot without having to give up Demers.

I agree with this guy.
He is correct. That's the same reason we need Demers in Philly. Ugh.

How about Paul Postma from the Jets?

We could use someone to shore up the 3rd line either at centre or wing.

Postma is a solid RHD who will be a PP specialist. Jets have too many RHD and he won't get time over Buffy or Bogosian and with Redmond playing well before his injury, Meech playing well, and Trouba coming up. We simply have no room.

I understand that. But, either the coach gets fired or Demers gets traded. But, if he is traded I see a better package coming to the Sharks.

As for Sharks fans, you better hope TM gets fired. I don't see that happening until the off season though. Maybe?

Just because our coaches are stupid and think being able to play Doug Murray 45 minutes per game would be awesome doesn't mean you trade the good player they are mishandling.

I wish DW would pull a Billy Beane and walk into T-Mac or Larry Robinson's office and tell them they can't start Doug Murray over Demers anymore and when they object he tells them they can't because Murray plays for another team now.

Unfortunately, I'm sure Shero and Bylsma are interested.

I think he'd have a higher value if he was an UFA, his susceptible to wear down due to his lack of size and the way he plays.

Ducks offer 2nd (2014)+ Mat Clark or Tim Heed. Not gonna get much now if you trade Maxy. He has a great contract, but he has started to adapt to the role he has played with the Flyers. He's not a 4th liner, but he is starting to get used to playing there.
Edit: Forgot we have NYI's second rounder this year. If you guys want that, you can have it for Max.

Meh a third round pick is fair value. He's a good 3rd/4th liner, kills penalties and great in the room. Also did some acting while he was in Pitt, so yeah he has that going for him too.

His last few years after the Cup were forgettable, but the guy can step up in key situations.

Never said straight up.

In fact, in a number of posts I've implied that I wouldn't do it straight up.

Anyway, what the hell happened to him. He was highly touted for a while there.

As I said earlier, Weber + MTL 3rd for Talbot.

2nd.

And I still want to know why the hell Weber has gone from Montreal golden boy to bench warmer in two years...

Is he struggling defensively? Is it something that the Flyers' three stay-at-home blueliners can cover up? Can he move the puck? Are we just trading for another Eminger?

Someone tell me something.

He never got a chance and just as he was start to cement himself he'd get passed by someone. I figured with the signing of Diaz would spell Weber being dealt. Nope, he's still here.

I'd be very surprised if he becomes healthy again and isn't dealt before the TDL. Tinordi and Pateryn have proved more useful in limited ice time than Weber.

Habs don't need anymore right handed offensive dman, either.

Weber and a 2nd for Talbot is fine in my books. The only questions would be if he wants to come here ( he has a ntc, or a nmc, no? ) and if he'd be fine on the 4th line/ occasionally on the 3rd line with Galchenyuk and Eller.

Habs may want someone who can win fights, but I've seen this guy lose 2 fights that sparked the Pens.

Talbot does nothing to improve the Hawks #3/4 C spots

Would be pointless acquistion
