I honestly don't understand how any Pens fan could flat out say that they don't want Talbot back. Saying you don't want Talbot at a $1.75m cap hit is one thing, but to just not want him period doesn't make sense in my opinion.

He was a fan favorite here, regardless of having a rough season his last year here. Max is a great penalty killer, plays hard every single game, and is a great locker room guy. I watched Philly's game against Tampa and he was by far the best player on the ice for the Flyers in that game.

Not to mention he has more points than: 1.) Tyler Kennedy 2.) Pens' entire fourth line combined.

I'd be very surprised if he becomes healthy again and isn't dealt before the TDL. Tinordi and Pateryn have proved more useful in limited ice time than Weber.

Habs don't need anymore right handed offensive dman, either.

Weber and a 2nd for Talbot is fine in my books. The only questions would be if he wants to come here ( he has a ntc, or a nmc, no? ) and if he'd be fine on the 4th line/ occasionally on the 3rd line with Galchenyuk and Eller.

Habs may want someone who can win fights, but I've seen this guy lose 2 fights that sparked the Pens.
He'd be fine on the 3rd line or 4th line. He doesn't have any clause to restrict him.

He's not a big fighter. He's a talker, a checker, and a PK guy who can chip in some offense.

What is Weber's injury btw? This is the first I've heard of it. What were his plans in Montreal before injury?

I think I would do it too. Weber + MTL 2nd for Talbot.

I'll agree once I know more about this injury and how Weber fit into Montreal's plans for the future before it.

His plans were to sit in the press box. To put it in a way, Kaberle, contract and all are more valuable to the habs than Weber.

He turned the puck over on a pp to Eric Staal, then somehow hurt himself trying to catch him. That sequence right then and there sums it all up for poor Weber.

A fresh start and a bigger d partner to handle the bigger guys might help Weber out. Worst comes to worst he sucks and goes back to Switzerland. If not, you got yourself a slighty better MAB

The injury is minor (couple of weeks). He was in the pressbox for most of the season. Injured in the 1st game back.

I could live with a slightly better MAB on the bottom pairing with Grossmann.

That means...

(Timonen) - Schenn
TBD - Coburn
Weber - Grossmann

It's better than Gervais, Foster, Lilja, or Gustafsson at this point.

Alright, it's a deal. Talbot for 2nd + Weber.

Excellent. Now potential for shorthanded goals with him and Pleks and our 4th line will add more scoring.

Now, to just dump Armstrong, Moen, or White. Or just keep White as the 13th forward... Intriguing.

Fedotenko is basically Talbot without a ton more years on his contract.

Not if Cousins is included. Connauton does really nothing for me, honestly.

And if we're getting Edler, we really don't need Connauton anyway.

OK, what if Connauton is switched with Eddie Lack. Does that make Cousins more expendable?

I'd take Mad Max Talbo in a second again on the Pens. Our 4th line is **** with Glass on it and Max can play anywhere in the lineup. Big game player and great PKer.

Yes, please.

Any Pens fans saying otherwise, give me a ****ing break. I only say to you TANNER GLASS!!!

Yeah, I guess. We desperately need goaltenders, and if we're getting Edler without giving up Laughton for a blueliner we can afford to give up Cousins.

That sounds bad for Vancouver though. Don't they need a goaltender in the pipes once they trade Luongo?

I think Y.Weber + 3rd for Talbot would make sense if injuries continue to pile up. I'm satisfied with the Habs depth for now though.

And he too can be yours for the low low low low low price of Pouliot, Despres, Morrow, or Maatta.

Schneider will do fine. They will have to pick up a backup though which I think will be part of the original goaltender deal. As far as goalie prospects go, we have Cannata who is proving to be a quality pro goaltender, although he's a few years out.

Are you nuts?

As a Flyers fan, I'd take this and run far, far away.

Getting Edler without giving up Couts/Schenn? Sign me up. Plus 2 picks? They can just flat out take out Connauton for all I care.

Yeah, GTFO of here with that. More like a 2nd + low end prospect or something.

I say get rid of Glass and don't trade for Talbot, they can upgrade the 4th line without paying 2 million bucks for 3 more seasons, Do you wanna have Talbot under contract when Letang and Malkin need new deals during that timeframe?

also Talbot was pretty bad after the cup year for the Pens.

If we trade with Mtl, I hope Thrower is part of the deal. They are pretty stacked on D prospects with Tinordi and Beaulieu.
