Anyway, watch this guy turn out about as well as Matt Gilroy.
Uhh... This year and next year are probably gonna be the worst two years for Detroit. Prospect pool starts flooding in in full force after that.

From his profile, description, and skills he sounds like a perfect complement to Kevin Klein. Would make Nashville

Weber-Josi
Klein-DD (I don't want to spell his ****ing name)
Blum-Bartley

Trade block

Gill-Ellis-Hannan

I think you can assume that Lidstrom, Weber and Pietrangelo have also sent him texts (or even talked to him on the phone) at some point, as well.

Bartley's already good enough to be considered a pencil-in for the line-up? And do you mean trade Ryan Ellis? Surely one of the dmen prospects with the highest offensive potential in the world you'd want to hang on to at least to or at least have on the trade block once he's shown that he can score in the NHL.

Not saying this actually happened or that it would be the same for DeKeyser, but if the best defender my favorite team ever had called me on the phone, that would pretty much seal the deal.

Bartley is already playing on our second pairing, and doing a fine job of it. Ellis is in Milwaukee getting first pairing minutes.

If DD chooses Nashville, I imagine Bartley will slide down with Blum\Gill, and DD will play with Klein on the second pair.

Yes, I do. Right now Ellis is in Milwaukee after being called "Nashville's 7th dman" by Trotz. The Offense is improving for Nashville and the PP is improving too. Victor Bartley is averaging 17:58 TOI/G compared to the following

Ryan Ellis: 16:15
Jon Blum: 14:28
Hal Gill: 13:05

If anything Bartley is replacing Scott Hannan. Same hand, same skill set, Bartley is slightly cheaper and much younger. IF and I say IF the Preds were to score DD. (And I say this with a humble IF) the Preds will have 9 NHL level D-men and a new problem. Too many lefties. (5L, 4R)

If he can play the Right side, his style would be perfect compliment to Leddy.

Never seen him play....going by reports only!!

Rosival/Brookbank are gone @ yrs end and S Johns and D Olsen would be his main competitors. Dekeyser should be likely ahead of those two developmental wise.

John Shannon from sports-net tweeted the following.

"Western Michigan's Dan DeKeyser will be with Maple Leafs brass tonight at ACC."

Worked when Coffey and Gretz called Schultz.

Yeah I'm sure that Justin Schultz Is'nt the only contact that Dan DeKeyser has been In contact with, There Is no way that Edmonton will give DeKeyser any more big minutes then Detroit can, And Detroit Is still more closer to being a contender then Edmonton Is.

I'm genuinely curious to see if he signs in Detroit. As time goes by, I'm less and less sure of it. Of course, it might just be the memory of the Suter situation coming back. It feels like Detroit is a place agents are warning their players about, more than anything.

This is from Preds' PR director

@KWilsonPreds: Head Coach Barry Trotz was not at practice today. He's up in Toronto with the rest of the @PredsNHL brass talking with @DeKeyser5 and reps

That would be great if we could somehow sway him away from Detriot

All teams that are pursuing DeKeyser are meeting him and his agent this does'nt mean a thing they did the exact same thing with justin Schultz Nashville is meeting him there so Is Detroit and other clubs. Dekeyser Is In Toronto with his agent of course he's going to talk to the Maple Leaf brass while he's there.

@Chrismpeters: Sounds like Nashville getting aggressive in DeKeyser recruiting. Having Trotz in the room during pitch has to help in discussing DK's role.

The only thing that gives me hope is supposedly DeKeyser is willing to listen to TWO offers from Detroit: one at the beginning and one at the end. It sounds like Detroit might get the chance to match.

I'm trying to find where I read that.

Why on earth would you warn your clients about playing for the most successful organization in recent memory, who takes care of their players both in the now and after their playing days? An organization where stability is all but certain.

Less money. You have to remember, agents don't get 30% of your trophies.
