If that's what Murray nets and we don't end up moving O'Byrne, I will be ****ing mad.

I don't see us dealing O'Brien. The coaches may not like him, but the players seem to, especially O'Reilly.

Wait...on second thought, maybe they WILL deal O'Brien.

Sharks get value for Douglas Murray. Two 2nd round draft picks.

Wow.. I would be thrilled with 1 2nd round pick for ROB. Get it done Sherman!

two second rounders. Wow.
ROB please leave. Take zanon, hunwick, o'brien, jones and kobasew with you.

Hell, as hurtful as it would be to see him leave, I'd even let Hejduk go if somebody was willing to take a chance on him scoring some goals for them on a cup run.

Surprised Murray fetched that much. He's regressed quite a bit.

Hejduk has a NMC and has made it clear he wouldn't play for any other team. Just let him play his last few games and retire.

I would think if that is the market for 3rd pairing defenders we are going to have a field day. ROB for a 2nd Hunwick and Zanon for 3rds. We might end up with 6 or 7 picks in the top 90.

We'll move him and Kobasew too, I'm quite confident of that.

Seems like the market is INSANELY HOT RIGHT NOW, might be best to do it now rather than hope there are many suitors driving up the price later.

Also hoping Hunwick is in that pack. I am pretty sure we'll be hanging onto Zanon and SoB though.

The only problem that I can see is that we are probably a much worse team hanging onto those guys (RoB, Hunwick) and playing them big minutes than the guys we'd have replacing them.

PIT have set the market high for both forwards and defensemen.

I almost never agree with this guy, but he is 100% right on this. Shero just set the market price very high.

I wouldn't mind seeing a McGinn type trade... package a couple of our expendable pieces for a younger roster player that contenders don't think can significantly help them this season.

If that fails, I'll take a 2nd for Kobasew and a 2nd for O'Byrne, please.

I would move Hejda for a 1st. (with this draft class, hell yeah)

I understand that we'd be looking for another guy to fill in his shoes on the 2nd pairing come July 1st but at the same time, I believe that Hejda will be pretty much done by the time we become true contenders. Another 1st rounder would be amazing for our team.

The Sharks got two second round picks but the second pick is conditional if Murray doesn't re-sign with Pens. #NHL

I'd take either one of those deals. Both are not long-term players for the Avs, and can net some good prospects.

So they got two 2nd round picks!

Hell, if my prize to NOT re-sign someone like Doug Murray is ONE 2nd round pick, he's becoming a UFA.

Taking a ton of heat on Twitter for saying Murray and O'Byrne are similar players. People are stupid.

People remember Murray from 3 years ago, not Murray from the last 1.5 years. I would actually say that ROB > Murray because they are very similar players but ROB is younger and can help for a few years if the team decides they like what they see.

This is when having a goofy management structure and possible lame-duck GM could really hurt things. Handcuffing a front office right when they need to be swift and decisive would be idiocy of the highest order, but I won't be surprised if it plays out this way.

Fully agree.

Murray is one of my idols though. Will love him until the day I die!
