Round 2 - Hitmen vs Wheat Kings

I just watched the first period of game 1 on the TV and it looks to be a pretty physical series. These teams don't seem to like each other much. I thought the Wheat Kings might kill the Hitmen in this series but that sure doesn't look to be the case after a 3-0 first period.

Well, it's official - Win or lose this series, the Hitmen are for real. The promise on paper is finally translating onto the ice.

10-1 Hitmen. Getzlaf just embarased that defender. 5 straight wins, are the Hitmen finally putting it together after a season of under acheiving?

I'm sure Brandon will bounce back strongly tomorrow.

I'm a bit shocked Calgary did so well. Then again Brandon did play pretty bad...

One of the worst refed games I have seen this season. Not that the outcome would have been different mind you but its that type of refereeing that causes players to lose it on the ice and take there frustration on opposing players and trying to hurt them.

also 1 reason why 15 year olds shouldnt play in the WHL. Reaves Destroying Plante in a fight. The kid was wobbling around after and barely got off the ice on his own power. I would be shocked if he doesnt have a bad concussion and is unable to play Tommorrow.

In all fairness, what is a person like Reaves even doing fighting a 15 year old? Pick your spots and IMO that was just bad judgement on Reaves' part.

There was a scuffle in front of the net and they got squared off. Plante is about 6'4 200 pounds for a 15 year old but he was just over matched by the powerful Reaves. If you want to play with the big boys you better be ready.

They are defintely peaking at the right time.....they've had this potential(not 10-1 every game), but to be a dominant team in the league.....the underachieving appears to be a thing of the past.....this team is getting red hot and confident and may be tough to stop now........

I'm not sure what fight you watched. Sure, Reaves was the obvious winner of that fight but Plante was not wobbling around and in no way "barely got off the ice on his own power". Heck, he played the rest of the game after his penalty expired.

I was also at the game.....Reaves absolutely demolished Plante in that fight.....Plante absolutely was wobbling around after the fight and did barely get off the ice under his own power.....he was holding on to people for about the first 20 seconds after the fight to just stand up.

Hes a big kid for 15 and i believe hes going to be a great dman in the dub, but he sure was crazy for getting into that fight with Reaves.

Was very impressed with Pushkarev last night, he seems to have real good hands....reminded me a lot of Jakub Sindell actually.

Brandon looked like crap all game from the get go....expect a ton more effort and a win from BDN tonight.

My guess is 5-3 BDN
Stone 1 goal 2 assists
Fehr 2 goals

Thats a Typical Crowd in Brandon.

I was about 10 feet away from the fight and Plante was out cold on his feet. He didnt return to the Ice and I had chance to talk with Brandons Doctor and He mentioned he had a "Slight" concussion. I would be surprised if he plays tonight and I would be horrfied for his safety if he does.

Puskerev Looked very good. His whole line I thought was the best line for Calgary on the night. He is very smooth with the puck and not afraid to go into the corners and bang around.

Much better performance by the Wheaties. They never seem to lose 2 in row since I cant remember.

Reaves didnt play he hurt his hand pounding it on Plante's Head

what i heard is reaves suffered an asthma attack and thats why he didnt play.

also, brandon sold out quite a few of the final games this year, the fact that Shaw is showing the game live with no delay is hurting brandon attendance. I was at the game tonight and it was a much better perfomance by brandon. Getzlaf impressed the hell out of me.

I was at the game as well and the fifty fifty guys were telling me it was his hand but who know? Its the playoffs and teams never say what the real injury is

the crowd in Brandon was a joke, they should just move the team to Winnipeg already.

Winnipeg?

Why so they can draw less fans and pay more to play?

also, those games would have 6000 people(5000 seats, 1000 standing room) had shaw done as the wheaties asked and put the game on a tv delay.
