I think the Lundqvist comments were him saying Rangers took a step back this year, after Tortorella claimed it was a sideways step.

Chris Gibson let go by the Kings. Don't know if he's good or not, but I remember him being a high draft pick.

Edit: Reading the Kings' board, seems like he didn't really progress as they hoped.

2nd rounder, wow.

Terrible pick by Kings if that is true. I think he will reenter the draft and wouldn't be shocked if he is picked again.

Reminds me of the Delmas situation.

Scouts seemed to love or hate him. There were some scouts that thought he would be the best goalie to come out of that draft and would become a very good starting goalie in the NHL... others that thought he couldn't cut it in the AHL level. Obviously the Avs were in the first group, and the second group was right.

Crappy part about that draft is that the Avs could have picked Holtby with that pick.

Wow, I think he's great player and he could have future in NHL, but I guess he makes too much money in Russia and likes to be star player.

I agree.

But don't mind that from Avs pov as Blues are already pretty stacked.

I remember when Anaheim traded him for Doug Weight. I couldn't figure out what they were trying to do. McDonald was an integral part of their cup win. He got his name on the cup, that is what is most important. Shame he had all the concussion issues.

Gonchar and the Stars have reached agreement on a 2 yr deal, believed to be $5 mil per, $10 mil total. Pending signed paperwork.

I didn't even know his rights had been traded. Guess I don't follow much NHL new when the Avs aren't playing.

They were traded yesterday. At around midnight Finnish time, iirc.

Yeah, the Logo kinda ruins it for me too.
I liked the "Texas" logo in the middle, and never actually had a problem with their jerseys. Always thought they were in the top-half of the NHL.

Us on the other hand.....

I believe the Oilers will announce Ralph Krueger is out as head coach, but they may not announce his replacement for a few days.

Not a surprise since they asked permission to interview Dallas Eakins.

Thrilled to hear the Oilers continue to be a clumsy, clueless organization. And so long as Lowe retains power, they'll continue to be as such.

Unfortunately, Lacroix did something similar to Tony Granato and admitted later on he screwed up, but at least Lacroix had the excuse of major health issues at the time.

I know it's Garrioch but

Led to believe former Colorado coach Joe Sacco interviewed in Vancouver Friday for their coaching post. Good coach. #NHL

Now that Eakins is going to Edmonton, that's one less candidate for Vancouver. Sacco will be a perfect fit

Totally agree, it is really awesome to see them becoming what the Avs were in 2009 and in 2013. But I think it starts at the owner and his love affair with Lowe. I am just glad that Kroenke learnt from his mistakes of making the Avs a second rate organization and hiring the right people within the organization.

Firing Krueger goes to show they have no idea what they're doing or what type of plan they have. It also shows a complete lack of respect from hiring Krueger as an assistant and grooming him for the head coaching position. Firing Renney when he did a decent job with the crap he had to work with IMO and then firing their coach of the future after one year. Oiler fans always tell the hockey world how they have improved from each year, but once you keep firing coaches it takes time getting used to a new system and I wouldn't be surprised if they have another top 5-10 pick next year as well.
