I could see him carving himself a nice niche as an assistant coach like Granato (hate the guy) did with the Pens.

So the leafs offered Bozak an EIGHT YEAR contract (reported at less than $5M per year)

Is there ANOTHER Bozak that I'm not aware of? Surely, this can't be TYLER?!!?

Finger
Komisarek
Connolly
Bozak?

EDIT - Ok so it's the Bozak camp coming up with that moronic offer. LOL talk about delusional

Nice call. Sacco hired by Sabres as an assistant coach.

@MikeMorrealeNHL

Sabres hire former Jack Adams Award finalist Joe Sacco as assistant coach

So ridiculous. Glendale can't afford to pay their cops or put gas in their fire engines, but they can throw $$$ at a money-hemorrhaging hockey team.

So sad to see competent hockey minds like Maloney and Tippett continue to prop up a completely untenable situation when they could go to a market like Seattle or Quebec City and flourish.

NHL brass is getting paid off--that's the only explanation here. No way is this purely Bettman's ego at work.

There is an out-clause for the team. With better marketing etc they could do alright. What that team needs is an exciting forward to get fan interest. Maybe Max Domi can provide that in the coming years.

I disagree. If the NHL and Moyes/Gretzky had been smart, they'd have built the rink in Phoenix or Scottsdale, and not a far flung suburb. But they were lured by Glendale, who for some reason thought it could go from farm town to major metropolitan area overnight. Sure enough, the economy crashed and urban growth is at a standstill. Even if it does resume, it'll never reach the levels it once did. It was a bad plan to start with and it's only gotten worse. You don't fix a problem like that by just throwing money at it.

People simply don't care enough about hockey in Phoenix to drive clear across town in order to see it. Doesn't matter if they end up getting a Crosby-caliber player to drum up interest--the situation is untenable and both the league and town should've cut their losses. Instead the town appears just fine bilking regular people so long as they get to keep a hockey team no one there cares about.

And from the other side, the Coyotes will probably never become profitable, and therefore will simply be another team that varies between mediocre and good year after year, never able to attract big-name free agents, never able to take that next step despite having a fantastic core of young defensemen.

He'll request a trade within 2 years of becoming a pro. Hopefully, he requests it before they completely ruin him.

With new ownership in place and more stability I don't think he will pull a Turris.

It wasn't just ownership that drove Turris out. Don't you mean Mueller,Wheeler and Tikonov?

What a dumb move by Chiarelli giving Dallas a first line centre just to pay his goalie an exuberant amount. Are we in the same division as them? I hope not.

Yeah, it's not like he got a 2 way forward who's put up 70point sesons and a promising prospect.

When did peverely become a first line Centre?

Looks like Nill is getting Wings head amateur scout MacDonnell and OHL scout Leach with him to Dallas.

Looks like they let about 100 stray dogs loose on the ice for a couple hours.
