Five points in three games since. Imagine how this board would have freaked out if the same thing happened here.
We would've been happy we had a great coach.

And frankly, if management had made a move like that I certainly wouldn't be berating them like I am now. No way in hell would Cooper be stupid enough to use David Jones in a checking role, ice Hunwick more than any other defenseman, and play Zanon at all.

Time for PAP and Dutchy to go down with "torso" injuries. Those two ( and the Flames) are gonna screw us out of last place.

Im not too concerned. Even if the pass us I think they take Mackinnon. They've been missing that numer 1 center for what seems like forever.

Even if they dont, id be happy with any of the top 3.

The perfect scenario is us going 3rd and still getting Jones. Then no one can say "should have picked" bla bla... when Jones isn't an elitedefenseman for like 3-4 years and Drouin and MacKinnon is racking up points.

I just love this one.

Quote:
“When the fans leave the building, regardless of the outcome, I don’t know if they’ll ever be ticked off at us,” Cooper declared. “If we go down, it won’t be without a fight . . . and that’s however you want to define a fight. I’m a believer in the pugilistic part of the game. And I believe it’s not just one guy who does it. Nobody will come in and push us around.

“The best way I can put it is this: The town won’t feel short-changed because for our guys winning becomes the only option. I’m not naive enough to sit here and say we’re going to repeat and repeat and repeat again. But I will say that I’ll take our chances over anybody else’s.”

I watched the 3rd period also , There's no way that we'll be dead last at the end of the season , because Calgary will un-tank us that's for sure. We always said that Kipper was their backbone , but now he's pretty much all they got left.
The funny thing is that Calgary's owner said to Jay Feaster that he better make the playoff , next year ...or else . I can't see how Calgary will be able to make the playoff next year , unless they make some drastic changes to their roster, but it will be very hard for them to lure Quality players from the UFA market .

The posisitive point in all this is that there's not only one player to grab at the draft , there are 3. Like i said it will be extremely hard to finish deadlast , but like you guys said , as long as we are in the top 3 we'll be happy.

Not to be a hater, but I would prefer if some of the more boring teams in the West miss the playoffs this year (Nashville and Phoenix mainly). I realize that they play within their means and respect teams that does everything to win but packing the slot, blocking and relying on the mistakes of the other team to create offense reminds me of the dark days of the 90s in general.

I don't mind good defense, but I get more entertainment from hockey where teams play more aggressive and open up a bit.

It's strange how different East and West are.

Kinda bummed O'Byrne didn't play tonight.. will be really interested to see if there's a noticeable improvement in his game away from Colorado. I expect him to exaggerate his physicality though in an attempt of endearment!

Even though they'd get their clocks cleaned by Chicago or Anaheim in the first round, I want Detroit to miss the playoffs so bad.

And does anyone outside of the fan bases and league office care about a Det/TML winter classic?

I personally hope they make it.

This Nyqvist kid looks good.
