New Hockey Bar In Brooklyn

Owners are from Chicago so they are die hard hawks fans but still, its a hockey bar first. They play all the games and 24 tap lines. And not just like bud light, its almost all really good craft beer
Foods good too

Smack dab in the middle of Bay Ridge. Thanks for the heads up!

EDIT: And apparently you can wear any jersey for $2 off drafts and half-priced apps. Hashtag marketing.

Seriously. The bars in Newark would be closer to where I lived on the UWS than that bar.

Google tells me it would take an hour and ten minutes by subway. Only taking two trains.

The good news is that one option involves what my one buddy calls the "Brooklyn reacharound" where you take a train from Brooklyn into Manhattan, and grab a train from there back into Brooklyn. Most effective when one of the trains you need to take is the L, J/M/Z, or G.

Thanks for the heads up.

But in the middle of Bay Ridge? Yeesh, what a bad idea.

Wearing any jersey other than a rags one in that neighborhood is just asking to get screwed with.

Good luck - hope it succeeds. The more hockey bars, the better.

Probably good to have the owners be of a neutral team. Allows one to just talk hockey without the underlying rival tension. Especially in Brooklyn where there will be so many Ranger fans, but soon will be home to the Islanders.

Was hoping this would be in Williamsburg. I go into the city sometimes to meet up with my friend who works on 57th in Manhattan. So much easier to get to Williamsburg then to Bay Ridge. Bummer. Good luck with it though!!

The only time I have ever been in Brooklyn has been on a highway.

What's the deal with Bay Ridge being such a Rags hotspot compared to other areas of the boro?

I'm not familiar with the boro at all, I know we have fans from there here on HF.

Not easy to get to from Essex county but I'll keep this on my radar

Anyone think a hockey bar cod succeed in NJ? That would be my dream business, but I'm not sure where I'd put it.. Can't see people driving more than 30 mins to a bar when there is probably one closer to them

In North Jersey, pretty much the only locales that I think a hockey themed bar could work, at the moment, are Hoboken near the train station and Morristown on South St or nearby The Green.

They would have to heavily promote the baseball crowds during the summer to stay afloat-and football too in Sept.

Eventually I'd love to see one near The Rock, but that is many years away, not enough people with disposable income live near The Rock yet to support such a bar on non-game nights.

On that note, I've spoken to the managers at a few of the bars near The Rock, they all said business has been great on game nights this season, much better compared to last year.
I'm sure they are all hoping for another long playoff run, they are killing it on game nights.

I lived in Bay Ridge for about 4 years and there are alot of Devils fans there. I saw a few Devils flags hanging off houses during the playoffs.

a no brainer would be a hockey themed bar by the rock..the flying puck by the garden is an overpriced midtown bar but always has hockey on and is packed even on non rangers nights....devils viewing parties would be great at a hockey bar near the rock...

This is absolutely true, however I live the atmosphere at local bars by the rock on game days. Really cool experience.

I live in Linden, which is a 25 minute drive from this place...I'd love to check it out. After a day of activities in Williamsburg and etc. first though...the toll is too high for me to go there for one bar.

But yeah, I will def check this place out though.

Bay Ridge is full of Irish and Italian people (mostly Italian), which makes up for the majority of hockey fans.
