Maybe not. Subban missed time because of contract negotiations. Letang missed games because of injuries. They both have missed games so that may not be an issue with voters. Suter may be the only other viable candidate.

Reason: Norris Trophy in a press box.
The Jets have lost 5 in a row and today went from 3rd to 10th in the standings, thats a feat.
On the other hand we got Carolina who is 1-10-1 in their last 12 and went from a certain playoff team to a lottery team in less than a month.
These two teams just handed out free playoff spots to Atlantic teams like the Rangers, Flyers or Devils. That's sickening.
I have a feeling at least two of those three are going to squeak in because the SouthEast is such a ****show. IMO the best thing about re-alignment next year is those teams are going to have to actually be competitive in order to make the playoffs. No more being gifted the #3 seed and home ice advantage just because you're less crappy than the other four crappy teams.
It's such crap, without the auto bid for conference leaders, they wouldn't even be in the playoffs.
lets see how it ends up. Nobody has ever made the playoffs in this format that didn't deserve to. They got a higher seed than they deserved, but the top 8 teams in the standings have made the playoffs every single year.
