Kind of weird to miss two games over 4-5 days because of the flu. Maybe its just me but I think there might be something else going on with him.
Or THEM.

The worst thing that could of happened would be for the Oilers to tie it up going into the 3rd.....at least down 1 we still have a chance

Jordan Eberle finger still broken.

Gagner aka fix it felix shows up and scores to tie it up. Oilers 12th shot of the game

Overtime:

Whitney with a penalty
blues convert
Jordan Eberle still broken finger

Kreuger smiling. "thought we played well, happy with the point"

Rinse and repeat.

That said theres some positives here.

With 33mins played in the game the Oilers had allowed 9shots, against a good club. Friggen impressive. Sure they only had 6shots but limiting shots against and possession against is good growth. Especially against a club so good at it.

I'm sure to hear lots of groaning here post game, Oilers are terrible, etc. but this team is making some strides on the defensive aspects of the game and it is where they have to improve. When they start doing more with that the offence will come.
Nail is playing with jump, should have fresh legs, he should be reunited with Magnus and Gags. That said I'd sooner see Hemsky dropped down a line than Eberle, but there is no question that Nail belongs on the Gagner line or at least in the top 6.

Ralph is probably firing them up to play hard for the loser point right now.

What do you say when Eberle, Hall, Schultz and Yakupov have 1 goal in 18-22 games.

That stat made me shake my head so hard. I have whip lash.

The Oilers for the most part have played well. They got away from playing solid positional play in the last 5mins but 1-0 down after two periods against STL is unexpected. Blues own us in every way and Oilers trying to battle hard.

Win or lose it doesn't matter. The Oil are one of the most boring teams in the league. Folks that are buying tickets to games are the biggest suckers in the city.

They do if your team needs to have at least one guy on the IR at all times because you don't want to move someone off the roster.

I just don't get how they expect Yakupov to succeed, he needs some decent playmakers and some decent service to unleash that shot.

Ye checking line- great idea!

Otherwise just wasting time..

Meh. I donno. The Blues are not a good 5v5 team. They started great to the season. 6-1. For the better part of the season they've been a .500 hockey club (10-10-2 since 6-1 start) with mediocre scoring and an outstanding PP.

This is a poor hockey game from the Oilers. Execution is awful. Break-outs, passes, shots etc.

12 shots through 2 periods is not good no matter who you are playing in this league.

They've also been the victim of some bad luck. The puck hits Justin Schultz's stick and we have a tie game.

Eberle will recover, but he has to bring his training and regimen to a different level. He's getting pushed off to the outside too much and even giving up on battles.
And to add, as someone else noted, he honestly does look slower out there...and even a tad 'plump' (judging from some interviews I've seen this season with him with no shirt, w/e). I hope he's not the type that puts on weight that easily, but if that's an issue, he really needs to get his diet in order. I guess I'm just adding fuel to the "WTF is wrong with Ebs" theory, and throwing something that's mostly pure speculation, but he's clearly not the same player this year, and there has to be a reason; be it between his ears or something more physiological (or both).

Disagree, like I said earlier Blues are my team to watch this year like Kings were last year. Blues are going along way and my darkhorse to win the cup.

When they play their game they are unstoppable. The blues will be more consistent with that in the playoffs.

Ya your right. Last year even though they were cleary a worse team, they were at least entertaining a lot of the time. This year, we have to count on a bad effort defensively by the other team to see a fun game.

Agreed. Yak should be a regular on a top 2 line, and Eberle deserves time on the 3rd/4th line (sorry bud).
