QB Mike Glennon had a privat workout with the Bears... they are looking to get a new QB this year in the Draft early on.

Draft is wide open for us and I still don't know what Emery wants to do

With Jacksonville wanting a QB, what would people think about trading #20 for 33 and 64? Would give the Bears 33, 50, 64 instead of 20 and 50. Probably can get Minter or Brown at 33, a corner at 50, and then grab a guard or WR at 64.

I don't agree with the "early on" part. We will take a QB. I seriously doubt it's before Round 4. (or Round 3 if we acquire a 3rd round pick). I really doubt we take one in the first two rounds.

I'd be OK with it.

I'd take a QB early on... rather than a Guard at #20

I've always watched on ESPN, will probably continue. I'm glad they aren't ruining the picks this year, last year sucked with regards to Schefter and all the reporters spoiling them.

I'm on board with doing something like that. We are almost in a position where we have to trade down. We really need some young guys. I'm very happy with Emery's aggressive approach in free agency so less holes to fill through the draft than I expected.

It's nice not having to draft a specific position, but being able to take the best available player. He has set the Bears up better than I expected.

Trade down only makes sense if we stay in the 1st round and add a 3rd at worst. We need talent, depth can be find as Free Agents.

Neither. Most overrated televised "sporting event" ever. Me personally, I'll just record one of them (probably NFL Net) and see what they have to say in regards to the Bears pick.

I have watched all 7 rounds more than once. It's a great time-killer before you go out on your Saturday. Also, it's fun because I always know rounds three through seven always turn out a few gems.

I'll be at a bar so whatever they choose to use (although I'm betting the Bulls game is over the loudspeakers). But of the two, I prefer NFL Network.

I'll be at Buffalo Wild Wings.

I didn't even pay for my food last year since they had all kinds of contests. Same went for the Bears/Pack TNF game.

I also want to see the Bulls game.

I think we should keep the 20. There is a drop off late in the 1st round. We need someone who can come in and be a good starter.

I don't really see a big drop off at linebacker, guard (assuming Cooper and Warmack are gone), corner, and mabye tight end (if Eifert is gone).

I don't see all of that happening. I'd also suggest we take one of the DT's even if all of that happened.

That is my hope, Richardson is the DT I covet if he falls. He's a true 4-3, 3 technique tackle. Just a monster athlete. He fits Emery's mold of explosive athlete. Explosive, versatile athletes is what Emery said which I why I think they'll take Ogletree at 20 if he's there. Completely fits that bill.

Exactly. I'd be very happy with either one of those guys and more comfortable with them than whoever we would get trading down. There is going to be a very useful player with a lot of upside that can start right away at No. 20.

Profootball weekly only has T'eo as a 1st round pick of all the linebackers we discuss, FYI.

Can't watch all 7 rounds of the draft, don't care who anyone but the Bears draft after round 3-4 at the latest, can't imagine watching the Bills, Jags or Chiefs draft in round 6-7.

I think Te'o and a wide receiver end up in Minnesota tomorrow night.

Interesting article on the draft.

Quote:
I woke up this Monday morning feeling almost like a little kid at Christmas – this is NFL Draft week, which means I get to do my annual NFL Draft Decoded column, probably my favorite thing to write. Every year I own up to a worsening obsession with the draft and plead to the decision-makers of any of the NFL's wayward franchises (I'm still talking to you, Jacksonville Jaguars owner Shahid Khan!) to take me on and hire me as an unpaid personnel advisor. Every year, I promise my future employer to sleep in the broom closet, live off tap water and Dinty Moore products, and emerge just once a year to guide the draft process.

The thing is, over many years of obsessing about the draft in my spare time, I've developed a (usually) rock-solid system that steers your theoretical team away from bust picks and toward higher-value selections.
