Kyle long had played 3 years of college football ,, 2 at junior college (one as a DE)

He has 1 year of OL play vs real competition

The giants took Justin Pugh one pick earlier. Guaranteed people would be crying if the bears took him too because their favorite site of guys that have never worked in the NFL dirt have him mocked there

thats fair enough. i guess i wanted us to go LB but It's ok I'll hope for the best. Obviously i want this to succeed.

but after the signings i guess i figured we'd try to get a decent guy on defense. looks like the LB are falling anyways so maybe next round.

Giants don't have history of failure at draft table and have 2 recent SB's to show they know what they are doing ,, They can afford to take risks

And Pugh is a safer pick then Long

i wasn't impressed with Smith during the season and have been beating the"overrated" drum on him for like 7 months. granted he hasn't played in the nfl yet, but I'm not surprised that he's fallen so far as nfl teams tend to be far more more shrewd than analysts' hype.

@BradBiggs: So, Emery says #Bears were not trading out of No. 20 unless Kyle Long was gone.

Seriously I didn't even look at his age

Watch the Packers pick a LB like Ogultree or Brown

#Bears GM Phil Emery: "I am excited. Very excited is a new member of the Chicago Bears."
Brad Biggs ‏@BradBiggs 3m
Emery: "He's going to start out a guard. We feel like he can be a starting right tackle. We feel he can be a good left tackle."
Brad Biggs ‏@BradBiggs 2m
Emery: "We see a player that is going to contribute right away. His Senior Bowl was excellent. I thought he was the best O-lineman on field.

Brad Biggs ‏@BradBiggs 1m
Emery: Says Kyle Long is No. 1 in last 12 draft classes in terms of being an athletic guard. "He rates rare."

Yeah, so by the time he "develops" he'll be a couple years from 30. What a joke of a pick.

@BradBiggs: Kyle Long flunked out academically at Florida State, where he went to play baseball

Also had DUI issues

Wonderful pick

Angelo absolutely sucked at drafting. Emery has had 1 draft and 1 player.

Honestly one of the rare times I agree with BWC. It's kind of disconcerting to be honest.

Other than QB's for the most part, many players do not perform well in college. It's nothing new.
