There's definitely a mutual respect of some sort with the Blues and Preds.

On a couple different places I've posted, it seems like the "Eastern Conference team" for Blues fans was either the Lightning or the Rangers. Could just be me though.

I definitely gotta say Chicago for this one.

Just always super respectful to us Vancouver fans and vice versa. When we're playing a home game we usually hand out roses to anyone in a Chicago jersey.

Games at the madhouse are great too. They see my Vancouver jersey and they're like dude, what are you doing paying for your drinks? Those are on us.

It's really great.

Much <3 for Boston's HF board.

And I adore the passion of Rangers fans on here. The threads/comments in last year's Round 1 playoff were epic.

I can't speak for all Blues fans, but the nicest conversations I've observed are with Devils and Rangers fans (talk about irony). Then again, they know how it feels to get unfairly saddled with the "boring" tag.

Predators and Kings too, actually. Canadiens as well because some of them still love Halak, and I remember a game with the Jets not too long ago that was pretty friendly between the fanbases.

I would have to say Leafs-Rangers even to some extent Leafs-Bruins. Respect factor between the teams and fan bases is there. When there is a match-up between us there are no shenanigans after the whistle because each team knows how tough one another is and they deal with it face to face in fights not in pushing or face washes or spears or any of that non sense.

I like how Torts and Julien have their teams play, and even with Carlyle all three teams play pretty similar. Never had an issue with either fan base either.

Came here initially to post something like this. That's been pretty much universal in the Central Division. Will be kind of a shame to leave that behind.

Then again, I get this feeling that post-realignment, Jackets and Preds fans are going to have one of those sort of post-rivalry camaraderie things going. Or at least I hope so.

That'd be a fair way of putting it. "G-ddamnit, NHL, give us the opportunity to hate eachother!"

Oh, and Jackets and Sens fans have frequently gotten along pretty well ever since the Vermette for (ultimately) Lehner trade. The Methot-Foligno trade has also helped. It was being threatened by a push by some to try to trade us Ben Bishop (which did not go over well), but I have hopes for the future now that Bob's playing well. It helps that both fanbases utterly loathe Bruce Garrioch.

most Leafs and Bruins fans I think are recently developing a mutual respect for each other. Just as long as Kessel/Seguin aren't talked about

Leafs and Rangers tend to be pretty good with each other as well.

For the Western Conference, we're usually pretty good with the Preds, St Louis, LA, and Anaheim fans.

It's just incredibly strange to me. I imagine some of it is location based, with New York being the center of attention for just about every media known, and New Jersey being the victim of countless Jersey Shore jokes and the like. I get the Rivalry, that's engrained in team history, but the venom that drips from Devils fans is something else entirely.
Haha, I assure you it goes the other way as well.
And not just some of it is 'location based', pretty much all of it. Most people dont really understand just how densely packed this region is. If I go out right now and stand on my roof if I look to the left I can see MSG, if I look to my right I can see the Prudential center (well in a sense, there are buildings in the way, but you get the picture). We're talking 8 miles between the two stadiums, or a 15 minute train ride. I think that makes it a bit different from other rivalries. It's neighbor against neighbor, family against family, and through out history civil wars are always the most bloody.
Basically, imagine Toronto and Ottawa, if Ottawa was 30 times closer to Toronto.

This.

I am completely dumbfounded by the hatred for the Rangers. You'd think they were a successful franchise that's won 27 titles or something.

I always though Penguins & Blue Jackets fans get along well. I suspect that'll change though once they move to EC next year.

New Jersey and Nashville have a lot in common, I know many NJD fans root for Nashville as their Western Conference favorite.

Yup. And the way they infest our arenas and yell Leafs NUMBER ONE!! When they've been crap for years...Old argument I know and I'm sure it's just a massive inferiority complex/jealousy for all the national media attention they get.

So I guess the CBC is just suppose to kowtow to the Jets fans and schedule their team in the 7pm EST slot when they haven't even proven that they can draw anywhere near the national viewership like the Leafs do?

I bet all of their advertisers and sponsors would have something to say about that.

I always thought Sabres and Canucks fans had a good camaraderie. Although the Kassian/Hodgson trade may have changed that.

Ducks/Leafs had a thing awhile ago, probably from all the trades.

Agreed, as a Leaf fan I find the Leaf hate from Jets fans to be really confusing..like you said they must find it to be a cool thing to do because I don't remember any type of rivalry between the two teams even with the old Jets. But hey thats what makes the Leafs the brand they are, they are loved and hated to the extreme, sometimes for obvious reasons (MTL, OTT) or not so obvious reasons (Jets fans)
