Just keep the pick with what's available at the top, IMO.

It would be nice to see them win the lottery. Highly unlikely, but hey, we can dream...

Do you see a clear cut tier list in this years top 10 draft?

Tier 1

Jones
Mackinnon
Drouin

Tier 2

Barkov
Lindholm
Nichushkin
Monahan

Tier 3

Shinkaruk
Nurse
Ristolainen

Interested in your thoughts on the talent drop-off after Drouin, Mac, and Jones. And who do you take at 5 or 6?

I don't "book it".

But I do think they will finish between 12-13th in the east. 9th is too optimistic/pessimistic

Only 11 games left and we just traded our captain. I doubt we pick outside of the top 8

I'm a huge fan of Lindholm and don't see what separates him from the perceived top 3. He has franchise player potential.

No north american hype, same with Barkov. Although they are a little below the big 3.

That is probably right around what general consensus would say, but mine would look a little different.

I don't think the talent drop off is that huge until you really get to 7 or so.
Drouin and MacKinnon are a cut above in terms of having game breaking skill, but guys like Barkov, Monahan, and Lindholm solidly project as first liners.

Good to hear. Looking at most draft rankings, it seems like they form a clump after the top 3 (ranked anywhere from 4 to 8). I would assume based on the Sabres trajectory, they'll finish low enough to potentially grab one of them. Can't go wrong there. Who between the three has more offensive upside, whose best defensively, etc?

I would like to keep all of our picks and try to move all the picks we acquired for proven NHL talent around the age of 25-26.I think we should be able to acquire a top 4 d-man and a top 9 2 way forward with MINs 1st and a couple of our 2nds the next couple years.

Use the picks that we earned ourselves, which will be in the top 7.We have a lot of NHL caliber prospects, so let's try to get some proven players with the excess picks.

I have absolutely no interest in moving a 1st round pick for a 26-27 year old

I like Lindholm's game as well. He's my choice if Regier misses out on MacKinnon, Drouin, and Jones.

I think after the top 3, Barkov is the player we'd want

If you're looking at Barkov/Lindholm/Monahan, it's really hard to differentiate.
I have Barkov at 3, Monahan at 4, and Lindholm at 5.
Lindholm probably isn't quite at the defensive level of Barkov or Monahan and is a bit smaller, but all three have similar offensive games to me.
Barkov probably has the most room to improve, since he is an extremely late 95 birth while the other two are late 94's, which is why I have him at 3.

Minnesota will make te playoffs, it's just a matter of who they play. The West is real tough as usual. They could very well lose in the first round just as much as they could make it to the finals.

In other tank news, After going up 2, Calgary has given up 5 unanswered goals and now trail 5-2
I don't think we'll out tank Calgary
