Canucks fan here. I'm sorry to disappoint Avs fans hoping for a tank, but I just can't see it happening. The very recent results might be disappointing (or exciting, for the tank-hopefuls), but I think they're a mirage. There's just too much strength (and youth) down the middle on your team for it to remain low in the standings for much longer.

you can say all you want about how much young talent or depth down the center we have, yea that all looks good on paper, but complete opposite on how they perform

At this point I don't even care about the result, I just want Bordeleau to beat the crap out of Lapierre.

Oh trust us, there is no bottom to this pit in sight. Most of the defense should probably not be in the NHL, and the other guy seems to have just given up. And we have simply run our once promising goaltender into the ice. I sure do hope he recovers from this.

Yeah, centers are nice. But they are not saving this clustersuck anytime soon.

Maybe in the future but this season is lost. It's a good thing too...only about 20 games of suffering for a top pick in the best draft in years.

No more bets for the Avatar challenge? A few players are still available.

You under-estimate Joe Sacco's tanking prowess.

Well, I admit to not being an expert on the entire line-up; I just look at the list of forwards, and how old they are, and I think, man, success has to be coming soon. But in a way you've answered the question that I thought would be too rude to ask, which is what explains the poor results. I thought it was simply a matter of not having your full team -- key injuries, the holdout -- and with a few more games to gell things would have to get better.

Even with the problems you've identified, I'm still optimistic. Landeskog will get healthy and there will be a ripple effect through the team. But okay, maybe next year. Good luck. I'll be pissed if Landeskog isn't playing tonight. What a horse.

Bordy finally catches a player with his high speed locomotive hits, and becomes the first NHLer in about a decade or two to check a player through the glass and into the stands.

I actually hope he never catches a guy with one of those hits. No exaggeration, I think it could have life threatening results. It's scary watching him go flying by a guy at his size, and at that speed.

O'Byrne, Palushaj and Jones healthy scratches for #Avs

Colorado Avalanche ‏@Avalanche 38s
The @Avalanche starters tonight: Fwds: Ryan O'Reilly, Gabriel Landeskog, Chuck Kobasew; Def: Shane O'Brien, Jan Hejda; Goalie: J.S. Giguere.

Kobasew is hot right now and being showcasted?

Sacco still thinks Kobasew is a top 6 forward

It's almost as if people evaluate him based on his play.

Don't play Landy if he's hurt, especially for this crappy season. Let him heal!

I didn't think he was much of a top 4 dman last season. I remember I got a fair bit of flack for that too.

He has had his moments but I never though a guy with size that never used it to his advantage, has no puck handling skills and low IQ was a top 4 dman.
