Olli Jokinen

Every single power play, time after time again, Jokinen is on the point. The result ? Absolutely no scoring from the pp. A consistently bad player, why is he on the powerplay ? (Or even in the lineup)

Yeah, I'm not sure why he's playing the point on the PP... but he's not the only one to blame after that game.

Probably because they went something like 15 games without a goal before he was on the PP. And the first couple games, even though they didn't score, they were moving the puck well, and had good chances.

If he's the fall guy it's because he's getting paid 4.5 million dollars to be nearly invisible and contribute very little offense.

Olli stinks.

I can't imagine that is how the coach wants him to play.... I mean, $4.5M for that?

I would definitely have him sit next game, and insert Cormier. Just my opinion.

This is the reason he has played for the Kings, Islanders, Panthers, Coyotes, Flames, Rangers and Flames before ending up on the Jets.

I'd shake up the bottom lines. Swap Joki and Burmi and then Wright and Miettinen.

Kane - Burmistrov - Wright
Miettinen - Antro - Wellwood
Tangradi - Jokinen - Thorburn

As I've said and watched all season, Joki sucks, over the hill player who looks tired and worn out, don't know what the heck Lawless was yapping about, thinks that Joki will get stronger, sorry fatboy don't think so.

Then you might as well say the same for Antro and Hainsey. I thought Hainsey was touted as a Offensive Defensmen...hmmm.

Olli has not played his best this season, however he is still probably one of the best we have available to move the puck and see the ice on the PP. Enstrom will no doubt take that spot back but I think you will see Olli with Bogo on PP2.

It is the same reason you see Wellwood on the PP from time to time. He knows how to look around the ice, move the puck and create plays.

I think most of the Ollie hate is due to people never evening seeing him play a minute of ice time before being in a Jets uniform.

Our off season BIG SIGNINGS = Ponikarovsky (BIG BUST), Jokinen (EXPENSIVE BIG BUST) and Montoya (Decent value)

Cheveldayoff not doing so well thus far!!!!

I don't know too many hockey fans who had never seen Olli play a game before Winnipeg signed him...

i totally agree with this, i think those would be the teams best combo for lines
except if possible i would swap miettinen for cormier, and deport miettinen far far away from north america

Hell why not

Kane - Wright - Miettinen

Kane and Mittens looked good on the 2-on-1, despite not scoring.

Bobby Clarke was really hard on Joker over a month ago...Geez, I'd love to hear what he would have to say about him now.

Olli needs to be traded soon. He is worth more to us in a trade then sitting out a game or two. It's too bad, because I thought he was a great pickup.

Edit: Olli is now -14 and only has one point on the PP .

Watching Jokinen on the PP is scary, it's a train wreck waiting to happen, they myth that he is good with the puck and makes smart reads is just a myth, dude is careless and clueless. Jokinen is all but useless even strength why in the hell would anyone want him on the PP, does Pearn still think this 2007.

Jokinen just needs to channel his inner Enstrom on the pp. Speaking of Enstrom when's he coming back?

Jokinen has to be dropped down a line, no question.

Aside from his performance on the PP (which has been dreadful, and was supposed to be his forte), I really think Jokinen is the victim of unrealistic expectations and poor utilization.

From the moment we acquired him, I thought it would be a mistake to put him with Kane. Jokinen has never struck me as a good puck distributor, for lack of a better term he's a centre with a power winger's mentality. He needs to be played with wingers that will feed him the puck.

C'mon Claude, let's shuffle things up a bit. I'd like to see Kane-Burmi-Antro on the second line, Wright-Jokinen-Wellwood on the third line, Tangradi-Corm/Slater-Miettinen on the 4th line. Even if Burmi hasn't learned his lesson about puck management, can't we just play him on the 2nd under the guise of showcasing him as trade bait? *note sarcasm, please don't take this as me wanting to deal him*

he hasnt played with the same line mates two games it a row it seems.....but there is no question, he hasnt produced up to expectation so far......i really hope he does....

i dont like him on the powerplay either.....i would go with bogo and buff on the first PP every time....until enstrom is back.
