2013 draftees talent scores

Hockey's Future has released the talent scores and probability of success for the 2013 drafted players: http://www.hockeysfuture.com/nhl-dra...sults-round-1/

Mackinnon, Drouin and Jones lead the pack with a 9C rating, Barkov right behind at 8.5C.

What are your thoughts? Who do you feel should have a higher or lower prospect score?

Apparently Gauthier, Pulock, and Nurse were just too enigmatic

(I'm not seeing talent scores listed for them)

EDIT: None of Toronto's draftees are graded. Well, that's disappointing. I'm guessing they divide the work, and each team's assigned writer grades his/her respective team? Because none of Edmonton's selections are graded, either.

Cue the homers to enter thread and explain why their team's pick deserves a higher rating...

Some of Buffalo's scores are kind of low. Hurley should be something like a 7.5D, and Bailey and Compher I think deserve a bit higher than 6.5 projections

Wow that is pretty ridiculous.

JT Compher is definitely a 7.5 C prospect.

I just noticed Joel Armia's prospect grade too... 7.0 B? WHAT!?

Grigorenko a 7.5 C!?

Wow.

Joel Armia should be an 8.0 C
Mikhail Grigorenko should be an 8.0 C
JT Compher is certainly at least a 7.5 C

Sabres fans I'm sorry.

A lot of these rankings have left me scratching my head. Samuel Morin (11th overall) is a 7.0C, and Brendan Kichton (190th overall) is a 7.0D.

Almost no seperation between the 11th and 190th overall picks? I guess it really was a deep draft

No worries the Sabres rankings are always off. I think its because a Habs fan does them.

Is the 2011/2012 grades updated? McKinnon, Drouin, Jones all got 9.0 C but RNH got 9.0 B, Landeskog 8.0 B, Larsson 9.0 B, Huberdeau 8.5 B.

Was the 2011 draft a safer draft or am I missing something with these grades?

Yes they've been updated I believe.

Has there ever been a post draft ranking with 3 9.0's?

Hunter Shinkaruk - 7.5 D

These rankings don't matter, but this made me smile.

Looks good to me.

Nice to see Gaudreau up to an 8.0 D.

Only ranking I strongly* disagree with is Eric Roy for the Flames. Should be a 6.5D instead of a 6.0D, the kid has great hands and a good offensive upside, hes just a boom/bust.

Gaudreau's been an 8.0D for quite some time now.

Was considered a top 15 prospect a few years ago too.

I had him at #13 in 2011 actually.

Should've been four if you ask me.

7.5C seems about right for Mueller.

I think Mackinnon should be a 9.5C, Barkov should be an 8.5B, and Domi and Shinkaruk should be 8.0C's. Seems fine otherwise.

Edit: Actually, 9.0B seems better for Mackinnon, instead of 9.5C or 9.0C. Mackinnon is a sure-fire first-liner.

If i recall correctly, its not one guy who ranks every teams prospects. Therefore there is no consistancy.

I don't agree. 9.0 caliber players are defined as guys like Thornton, Iginla, Kovalchuk, Datsyuk, and Marty St. Louis...Superstars, basically. So 9.0 is nothing to sneeze at.
