Goaltending was definitely the difference. Seems like the story for this season.

Stewart had a great chance.

A very costly loss!

This is a very frustrating season.

Kipprusoff 1: Blues 0. Hard game to lose. I hope to god Allen plays the next gam.

More of the same from Blues goalies not named Jake Allen. The effort was there from 5 out of 6 Blues on the ice at all times (and in the last minute 6 out of 6)

Last year the Flames made a huge run before fading in the last week or so. I watched a lot of those games and this was how Kiprusoff played.

Halak played a good game other then letting in the most costly goal. I'm happy with the effort from everyone, just wish Halak would have made that save.

Best played Blues loss in recent memory. Liked pretty much everything I saw from the skaters.

They might not have one this one, but if they can play every game like this they are going to win a lot of games.

Pretty easy one to figure out. The better team lost because Halak couldnt make a timely save. He made one, Kipper made 20. Thats as bad of a 'loss' as it gets.

I cant help but think that's a totally different game with Allen in net. The first goal and the 3rd, I have to think he would have stopped just due to his size alone. *******

The only word I will use to describe Halak tonight is frustrating. Goals #1 and especially #3 should not have gone in. Yes, Cervenka took a good shot to score the first one, but Kiprusoff showed that a good goaltender stops that when Backes tried the same thing.

Extremely frustrating to control most of the play and get limited offensive results. Kiprusoff stonewalled us, but despite having a lot of creative players, I did not see a lot of offensive zone creativity. I saw a lot of perimeter play, which comes out of this team a lot and we typically lose when we play this way.

Team is just frustrating, can't seem to get it all together at the same time. As soon as one person starts clicking, two others disappear.

I've pretty much given up on Hirsch fixing this problem, Halak starts out with his glove at medium height and drops it as soon as he squares up.

What? Everyone played fantastic. We outshot them 38-17. We lost because of Halak. Simple as that.

3-2 loss 35 year old Iginla with game winning goal, 36 year old Kiprusoff with 36 saves and a .947 save % for the Game. Brutal. Aquire them already Armstrong since this young, mediorce, underacheving team isn't going anywhere.

And that, Mr. Halak, is precisely why we are carrying three goalies. Capice, prima donna?

You're right! I've watched it several times on slo-mo, and although Redden pushes Halak's leg, Halak should have had his stick on the ice. It looks like he lost concentration, thinking the play was over, as the puck and Iginla were moving towards the corner. An NHL goalie can NOT do that (especially in this short season, when every point is crucial).

For everyone including Backes, Halak was at best mediocre tonight. It is what it is. He still cant make the big save and that's important. The team should have won this game or at least got a point, but a 37 year old outplayed him by a massive margin. Disappointing.

He's too small and he's not nearly aggressive enough.

Literally can't figure out the last two paragraphs. It was as direct and powerful and relentless a game offensively as they've had this season. Crashing the net over and over, all 18 skaters were really, really strong. We watched different games.

They have to grow some damn balls and make a decision when it comes to our goaltenders. Pick 2 and demote/trade/waive the other one. Difficult enough to find any kind of damn consistency from our goalies, that the whole aura of uncertainty as well as practical limitations are just going to make things worse.

Doesn't make a difference to Jake Allen at the moment, he's just happy to be in the NHL. The longer he is up though, the more it will affect him.

watch halaks glove on the 2nd goal. i know it was a breakaway but the guy was moving 1 MPH and it's not like it was patty kane. if halak does what allen or any other goalie would've done (keep his glove up and push over) he makes the save. Still not his fault on that goal but dam woulda been a nice save and a big game changer.
