Why would the Devils want Campbell? The last thing the team would want to add is yet ANOTHER defenseman. The only way this makes remotely any sense is if the Devils swap a roster defenseman (Zidlicky, Tallinder...etc. Or hope Volchenkov waives his no trade)

I would rather have Fleischmann...

No need to trade him, and IMO Panthers and Devils don't make good trading partners.

I personally wouldn't mind adding Campbell. He is a real good puck-mover and PPQB.

However, for it to make sense for the Devils, we'd be packaging at least one defender off, plus probably another prospect defender.

As a Devils fan:

Volchenkov+Urbom+Tedenby+pick

That's probably the best the Devils could offer. It would really solidify our D though.

Greene-Larsson
Campbell-Harrold
Salvador-Zidlicky

Campbell would be an AMAZING addition to NJ. He would make our team much better in all situations. Our PP would be deadly with Kovy and him at the point. Lou has been acquiring players such as Foster and Zidlicky to help our PP, and while they did help, it was not enough. They are both below average defensively, and Campbell is above. I'd do:

2nd rounder+Urbom+Josefson/Teds+ Harrold.

Quality over quantity.

We may have more than enough defensemen at the moment, but there's no reason why we couldn't or shouldn't upgrade at that position.

That said, our assets are limited. And I'm not sure I'd want to sink all (or, at least, a good portion) of them in Campbell.
