Official Brenden Morrow Appreciation Thread

I was thinking we could have a thread to reminisce and reflect upon his time as a Star.

Just thought i'd get that out of the way.

2007 Game 5 was fun.
2008 Game 6 was even more fun.

Thanks for the fun times Brenden.

Morrow, you were a solid player all these years, leading the team through the darkest times.

It's unfortunate that it's come to this, but you've done what you could do in these darkest times, and you've been a warrior for this franchise.

I think we'll miss you, and what you've brought to this team, it's just too bad this is the outcome of mismanagement and a disaster of adapting to the new NHL (not you, management post-04 lockout).

Even this was long time coming, it hurts like hell.

Brenden Morrow was a true warrior for this Dallas Stars team. I will never forget the spring 2008.

Thank you.

Pretty much sums up my feelings.
I haven't been a Stars fan for a super long time, but Morrow's play in 10-11 really helped me get into the game.
Looking up highlights/fights too.
Getting to see him raise the cup would be something else.

This.

Morrow always played second fiddle to me while Modano was still part of the team, but by the time Modano left town, Morrow was already on the decline and his play only grew worse, outside of a few flashes of the "Brenden of Old".

But he's really had a very solid career in Dallas, and like a few others have said, I wish him all the best in Pittsburgh. Would be fantastic to watch him (as well as Neal and Nisky, for that matter) raise the Cup as Pittsburgh Penguins.

I gave Morrow a lot of crap towards the end, but that game 6 versus San Jose is how I'll remember him. I jumped a foot in the air when he leveled Michalek, and then utter joy after he scored that goal. Just awesome. Definitely rooting for Pittsburgh in the playoffs.

Retire #10. MiniMo next to Mo. #10 next to #9. That would be something special.

If Morrow had won a Cup or something along those lines, then sure. But...eh...

Can't retire too many numbers. Modano, Lehtinen, Zubov, Morrow... I think they're all worthy, but it's a bit much at the same time as well.

Modano's the only surefire one.

Gonna miss Morrow, but at the same time I'm glad he's gone. Wish him all the best in Pittsburgh, even though I despise them.

I don't want negativity fill this thread but there isn't enough to retire his number.. I want us to keep the bar high and so only #9 and #26 should go up..

Brenden was the guy who came up and learnt from the team which knew how to win. He was the bridge from the 00's to 2008 when I think everything was there to get him to lift the Cup and bring the glory back to Dallas. That year he showed that he can lead and unite the old guard with the then-current stars of the team.. In 2010 in Vancouver he showed the world that he is a leader among "leaders".. But WE knew that already..

Don't want to fill this with negativity like you said, but that year...I've never been more disappointed with Morrow.

The Morrow we saw in Vancouver was no where close to the Morrow we've watched these past five years.

I don't want Morrow's 10 retired. Only 9, 26, 56. It would start getting ridiculous otherwise. Best of luck Brenden, I'll always remember game 6

I agree with the retired numbers. I think the 20th anniversary team is a nice tip of the hat to him.

I will always be grateful for what he did as a Star. I can't believe his time here is over. Best of luck to him and wow that Michalek and Seabrook hit were such masterpieces.

No thanks. There should be a higher threshold for that kind of honor.

The Morrow we saw in Vancouver wasn't even the Morrow we saw during the season because he was saving himself for the Olympics.

He had a very short run as a very good player. He wrecked his body playing his game. I wasn't a big fan of his, but it is a shame that a guy as young as him is so beaten up.

Pretty saddened to see Brenden go. Played his heart out for this franchise. He will always be one of my favorite Stars of all time. Great leader(regardless of what others think) who always stood up for his teammates. Wish him the best of luck in Pit.. Thanks for the great memories #10
