Yikes.

I admire Shero's attitude and attempts to stock up on ammo, but jeez, I don't like either of these trades at all.

2013 and 2014 2nd's? 2013 could be very low, so essentially a high 3rd.

LOL.

Man, Shero is putting a lot of his eggs in the basket for this playoff run.

Sharks fans must be ecstatic.
Most certainly.

Murray is horrible. Would have been happy with a 7th, this is awesome.

The over-ratedness of draft picks on this board is astounding.

Pittsburgh is already super-tough and they just got even tougher. Good move. As long as these guys stay healthy.

Wow, Pens are loading up, but paying a pretty hefty price to do so.

HF's going to freak out about 2nd rounders...typical. Murray will help the pens now and addresses a weakness. How many 2nd rounders make it to the nhl?

Jay Feaster is literally bouncing off the walls thinking of what Iginla and Giordano could be worth.

Two 2nd rounders is a lot to give up, especially since most Sharks fans seem quite happy to get rid of Murray.

Douglas Murray has played some brutal hockey lately, but I like it. It's definitely a gamble.

I still don't think the Pens defense will be good enough in the playoffs.

I dunno. Morrow for Morrow was pretty risky, but 2 seconds for Doug Murray is not, imo. He gives them a dimension they don't have (a huge, backbreaking stay at home guy) and that was invaluable in their last cup run.

Gill on Toronto looked even worse than Murray has in San Jose.

Late second rounders tend to be projects. A team in win-now mode has little use for projects.

Murray is a big body, well, very big actually. Great on the PK and in the corners but he is slow and can get walked around.

Very good 5-6 guy on any team and the Pens don't take anyone off the roster. Solid move in my opinion.

EDIT: Funny reading through this thread. God you guys over value picks and prospects...

Too hard to use analytic stats like Sabremetrics to judge a player.

So they have most shots against maybe

- because he plays 25 mins a night against other teams top line.
- Where are the shots coming from? Outside and non threatening scoring chances?
- Who else is on the ice with him maybe he plays with a bad partner or the line gets beat in the defensive zone which results in more shots and not Murray's fault.

Nothing against the poster just passing along info but these advance stats people are starting to quote just don't reflect a player and game situations especially when hockey is a game played by 5 teamates on the ice and not a 1 on 1 situation like in baseball.
He is the bad player. Literally every single player he is one the ice with has their Corsi PLUMMET.

Okay, time to sell Quincey, White, Cleary etc., Holland.

Wow, definition of a sellers' market, judging from what PIT had to give up.

That said, I like the players they added and I like their chances.

Sheros trying to hard.
This is the moment when I realized how high of opinion certain Hawks' fans have of their team. The Penguins are on a 12 game winning streak, Crosby is playing like the best player in the world again, and Malkin (the reigning Hart & Art Ross trophy winner) is about to rejoin the line-up... and the Penguins are NOT at the level of the Hawks or Ducks.
