Probably. Even if we don't buy out Bryz he'd be a huge upgrade as a backup. What would the Kings want for him?

I'd be a bit interested in Bernier. I honestly don't like his size. I think he may get exposed in a prolonged starting role, and I don't think he's worth as much as some kings fans seem to believe he is. But if the price were right, why not?

I don't want Bernier. He would cost too much and I'm not really sold on him.

Agreed... I even worry about somebody like Schneider. We need a goalie who can deal with the pressure of being on a winner or a team that expects to win

yes lets acquire a goalie based on an immeasurable variable.

I rather try and get Schneider over Bernier. IMO he's more proven than Bernier and would probably come a little cheaper.

I don't see Schneider being cheaper as Canucks GM would want alot more, probably reason Lu hasn't been moved. I would trade for either Schneider or Bernier, whoever is cheaper I would go for.

not going to be able to find a goalie like that via trade. I agree tho that we need to find a goaltender. i would take Schneider or Bernier. But neither guy would be happy to come here as they want to come here to be the no. 1. and that likely isnt happening.
Might be better to see if they can pry Bishop out of Ottawa.

Planet Earth, silly.

He'd definitely cost less than both, and I think he's a pretty damn good goalie for his second year in the league. Big, tall, athletic, usually well positioned. He's part of the reason the Senators are still in it. Maybe he benefits from the Sens system, but you don't know how good or bad Bernier will be in a starters roll and the Nucks aren't gonna let go of Schneider.

I mentioned this at the time of the signing (of course everyone thought I was overreacting and that we were clearly making the playoffs) but it sure would be nice right now if Timonen were a pending UFA. Ship him off to a contender for ~2 months, get a king's ransom in return (and with the way he's playing, he would get a BOATLOAD) and then re-sign him so his family can stay here for his final NHL season.

I do not want Clowe. I feel like he might go full "Derp mode" when he's here.

Clowe is from nearby St Johns.

From a Newfoundland paper:

http://www.thetelegram.com/News/Loca...-sources-say/1

Quote:
San Jose Sharks forward Ryane Clowe could be a Philadelphia Flyer by the end of the day Monday, sources say.

Clowe, 30, is in the final year of a deal that pays him a pro-rated $3.625 million this season. He is due to become an unrestricted free agent in July.

Media reports have indicated the Montreal Canadiens, Vancouver Canucks, Boston Bruins and New York Rangers have expressed interest in Clowe, but sources say the Flyers have jumped in the mix and a deal sending the big winger to Philadelphia is all but done.

The Fermeuse-born, Mount Pearl-raised Clowe and the Flyers have already worked out a new multi-year contract, another source said.

Well then I guess based just off of the statistics Bryz should have been just fine here in Philly?

Is Pronger on LTIR yet? If he isn't he may be put there for Clowe?

I just hope it's April Fools though...

Yes, the main reason I'm confused is isn't Clowe a pending UFA? Sometimes Homer really makes me scratch my head
