Why would they suddenly be in for Clowe, Bouwmeester and Jagr? Nah, I'm not buying it.

I'd have to think about it, but only if it was top 5 and even then... makes more sense for you to just not acquire Clowe imo.

These proposed moves make no sense with Coburn, Mezaros and Talbot all done for the season.

They say Clowe could want an extension in place if he accepts a trade since he has a NTC. But even then, the guy is NOT worth Couturier. I'd much rather trade Couturier for Bobby Ryan in the offseason if they really want to trade him for a winger.

This team may make the playoffs, but even if they do, they'll get 8th seed and face Pittsburgh. I get they play Pitt tough, but even if they were to somehow beat Pitt in the first, what has this team shown this year that makes anyone think they could make a Cup run? Cut your losses Holmgren, this is not the Flyers' year.

Clowe for 2nd 2013 and I might be okay. Of course, I feel it unnecessary as ****. But we need to take into consideration that he's still a 50-60 points scorer and is just 30 yo.

The Daily News makes me mad sometimes...

"Clowe seems to make much more sense. He is a sturdy, reliable winger who could play alongside Claude Giroux to help him create. He has just 11 assists (no goals) in 29 games this season, but has been a relatively consistent, 50-point scorer over the last handful of seasons. Clowe averaged 54 points per year from 2008-2012.

It is interesting to see what the burgeoning market will bring for Clowe. Some seem to think the Sharks overvalue Clowe, but there is clearly a list of teams lined up for his services."

Just a thought, would there be ramifications if this was a joke?

Dont think it's an April Fools joke. McKenzie is tweeting about it

Quote:
Leading contenders for Clowe, IMO, would be PHI or MIN but it's fluid situation. NYR, VAN, MTL also in mix. 50-50 it happens today.
Quote:
Have to figure a team like NYR more interested in Clowe as a rental. MTL may be hesitant to pay high rental rates.
Quote:
Other three teams - PHI, MIN, VAN - capable of doing an extension for Clowe, if so inclined. SJ and MIN do seem to like trading, don't they?

If Couturier goes the other way, it would have to be Clowe+.

If HF boards was a physical place, I could see us all being huddled around a tv waiting to hear our fate like PSU was with the NCAA sanctions. Tears flowing, anger, RAGE.

I would be ok for a 2nd and a lower round pick for Clowe, if he has an extension signed for a realistic price.
