IMHO we need to keep Flip. Z is old and Dats may be gone soon rather than later. 5 million or less is good for me.

Gabby was fine last year. Think the shoulder is taking longer to get back to normal. I'd take either Gabby or Vanek. Please not JBo.

I'd like to keep Filppula as well, he's the best with the puck outside of Zetterberg and Datsyuk. But with Jarnkrok and Sheahan almost NHL ready, and some would argue they are, I don't think Filppula is as much of a need if KH could package him to address another need or get a draft pick.

I don't think we can honestly say either Jarnkrok or Sheahan are NHL ready. In fact I would almost guarantee they will not be ready to play 2nd line centre for 2-3 years - if ever.
Jarnkrok certainly looks promising but he has a long way to go before I would be willing to give him that role. As for Sheahan, he MIGHT be a 3rd line centre some day.

If he trades it for Vanek I am okay with it. Just for the record, in fact he can move quite a bit for that guy before I get upset.

JayBo wasn't really worth it, even if the prospects were mediocre to add on. Would be interesting to hear what they actually wanted for him from us too.

Wings should go after Clowe. That is who you put on Datsyuk's wing.

I don't like that he is 30, but he should come cheap.

Both Abdelkader AND Cleary have more goals than Clowe.

Abdelkader didn't score a game for what 40 games? The guy has eight points.

Cleary is worthless garbage too. Clowe has more points and hasn't scored a single goal. That's absolutely hilarious.

Do you seriously think Gator and Cleary are better than Clowe?

The guy has had three 50+ point seasons in a row before this lockout shortened season.

He has put up more points than Franzen ever has in one season.

He's slow, and racks up a crap ton of PIM. We already have Tootoo, we don't need Clowe.

You think Tootoo and Clowe are comparable players?

Even with Clowe's miserable season, he is still tough to play against.

Gator and Cleary are not tough to play against.

Clowe is better offensively by a landslide and is the type of player you want in the playoffs.

Cleary and Gator are better suited for golf courses or the WNBA.

I don't see a point in trading for Clowe now. Sign him for nothing in the offseason.
