Those quotes make it sound like Holland was on an episode of intervention.

Babcock:
"Ken, you've given me 2 awesome Cs and 15 other depth forwards... we have 9 NHL defenseman, and 7 of them are bottom pairing/ 7th dmen... *starts to leak tears* please Kenny! *sobbing ensues* If things don't change (choking out the words over emotion) by the deadline (more stumbling over the words) I don't want to be a part of your life anymore."

Holland:
"I can't right now. Let me think about it. No! I said I need to think! *gets up and storms out of the couch-filled room* Cut to scenes of Ken running from the cameramen and the intervener. Black screen with white font: Holland has since come around and realized he has a problem with collecting fringe NHLers and holding on to veterans way too long. Clip of Holland meeting with effective, youthful NHLer to talk about his future with the club.

Just waiting for the relapse scene where we see him huddled in the corner of his office in the fetal position, calling every GM in the league on his cell phone and asking to trade for their 13th forwards/ 7th Dmen for 7th round picks or calling player agents of UFA vets that no one wants anymore to give them a try out.

Not only should he not trade for depth, but he should trade some of our leftovers if there's any takers. Similar to what SJ is doing, who are in our exact spot with aging star players and veteran underachivers.

Weird. What a heck is Yzerman doing?

At first he let Adam Hall go on waivers because they wanted to use some prospects on the rosters. There was bunch of waiver-free guys to go down before Hall on that time. That looked like goes through a full youth movement.

Now he trades Hall back and sends MA Bergeron to Carolina.

Trade Eaves, White and a pick for some better picks, bring up Tatar and put Dekeyser in the lineup. Bam.

Miller and Cleary should also be on the market. Sammy and Bert can't because they're injured, oh well.

Miller proved his worth yesterday, he played a sound game and is valuable on the 3rd / 4th line. Cleary, well he's passed his expiration date and doesn't have a lot of trade value, I think. If an Eastern team is interested, say Carolina, i'd listen to offers.

I have no problem with neither in a lineup, assuming the right spot, but they're both pending UFA's that I think is time to move on from. And yeah, neither has much value if any value, but I'd dangle them.

I like the idea of Jagr coming in, then we can put him with Jarnkrok so he can teach him the ropes next year. On top of that, a PP with Datsyuk and Jagr alone would bump up ratings for NBCSN and FSD.

Franzen Zetterberg Nyquist
Jagr Datsyuk Abdelkader
Flip Andersson Brunner
Miller Emmerton Cleary

Kronwall Robidas
Kindl Ericsson
Smith Colaiacovo

Is it the "Favorite?"
No.
But that team could do damage in the playoffs.

And if you can make the deal without toally fubarring your future, why wouldn't you?

How many more years of Datsyuk-Zetterberg are we going to have?

Depending on the prospect, that's a good deal. Does Vancouver even have prospects?

Sort of interesting that you believe that since Lashoff seems to have cemented a spot on the team. He'll be back after tomorrow when rosters expand.
